Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

The eclipse 62 is a perfect case, i bougt one of the solar versions a while back along with some panels of the mm for a second rig. Just got to get a vented top panel now, it's such a roomy case and gives a lot of space to work in. Im now the proud owner of 2 eclipse cases:D

Lads, can anyone help? The twin USB's on the front of my case have been destroyed by my young son jamming various bits and bobs into them so I've been thinking of putting a USB card into the slot below but I've no idea how I would hook it up to the motherboard? Can anyone help.

Had mine a good few years now...still think its a good enough case. Its seen three systems :) and currently houses my new Deneb rig...just need a cold cathode at the bottom ;) have tidied the cables up a bit more with spiral loom since these photos, but everything is black so they seem hidden anyway

Nice rig electronic dave, though id suggest turning your TRUE cooler so that the hot air vents out through the rear case fan, you shouldnt have any issues fit wise as this is how i set up mine in an eclipse.;)

Thanks guys - I should point something out about the difference of the Thermalright True heatsink mounting, as I'm probably in the minority with a AMD Phenom II X4 rig and most (if not all) Intel boards can have it this way...:D excuse the long winded explanation below...

The Intel LGA775 mounting holes are symmetrical (i.e. perfect square) so you can mount the Thermalright True Black either way round (so its either setup my way or the other way round as setter has suggested) which is what I intended to do (having it blow warm out straight towards the exhaust fan)

However upon assembly I discovered that the AM2 socket mounting holes are not symmetical and the backplate is rectangular - this means you can only mount the Thermalright True Black one way (in line with its included adapter) - low and behold it would have to be the illogical way round wouldn't it?

I was a bit miffed as I had assumed, having own several of these type of heatsinks, would be mounted as setter suggests and is possible on the Intel LGA775

I suppose this is what you get for going AMD! :D I'm sure the heatpipes must work better or something instead to compensate for this?

I have the heatsink fans (1 Hiper / 1 Sharkoon) on Q/Smart Fan (Performance) and both hover at ~1300rpm, with the rear exhaust at a slightly slower 1200rpm (have replaced with an Antec 3 speed fan) as the PSU does take a little too...another Hiper at the front helps drag cool air in to the GFX card area

The cables have been tidied a great deal more since the photos where taken, but because everything is black they are difficult to spot anyway ;)

Ahh good point regarding the amd mount for the TRUE, nice build though, and i notice yours is one of the eclipse versions with the 3 hole mobo tray, quite handy when it comes to cable routing. Looked for one for a long time and eventually got one by purchasing a solar variant of the eclipse and swapping trays round.:D

Nice idea, looking to do the same on new build :D Thanks for info.....
