Alan Davies comments

The morale high ground about what?

And what is your point it has been 23 years? Still the truth hasn't been released about what actually happened, shows what a joke the United Kingdom is.

the morale high ground about respect.

i have heard some simply awful first hand accounts from united supporting friends about how liverpool fans act at OT. from the turning up with inflatible aeroplanes, to ripping the toilets out and spraying munich insults everywhere, the singing oh and ripping the seats up and throwing them at the disabled fans. not the majority i know and it's *** for tat but i don't see any other team embarassing themself as much as liverpool lately. it goes on.

i know there are fans who have had their life pulled apart by this who deserve answers, just a shame about the bandwagon jumpers.

Have you heard the podcast before? That's actually quite a literate snippet compared to most sentences they come out with. It's not meant to be insightful, it's meant to be funny and just a chat about football. Nothing is meant to be taken seriously or to cause offence

(For anybody who doesn't regularly follow the podcast - do it, even if you're not an Arsenal fan it's hilarious!)

Talking about Hillsborough - that **** gets on my ****. Sounds like a barrel of laughs. He has admitted it was stupid, he has apologised/donated to the Hillsborough foundation apparently.

That said what the thread is about is that Liverpool should not have to play on the 15th April, I mean someone in here suggested we still hold the memorial? How is that one going to work when most fans from the City itself will be in London. Never mind the emotional impact it has on many people.

Well if we are going to bring up accounts about this which I had a brief discussion with Loki about both sets of fans have their complete ***** who are as bad as each other. Was only a season or two ago fans threw **** from the Upper Annie onto United fans below.

But then again United showed up and sang about Hillsborough/Murderers for a lot of the match in the FA Cup this season, I was subjected to it in the airport and also the airport in Belfast. My friend got it on the train back to nottingham, United were also singing murderers/always the victim whilst playing QPR.

So it goes on everywhere, from both sets of fans and is absolutely disgusting pathetic human beings who quite frankly I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over if they were shot.

(There is no morale high ground in the subject, there are normal human beings and then those *****.)

Well we'll agree to disagree.

He's apologised and has now donated £1,000 to the fund, water under the bridge imo, best thing to do is leave it, he didn't mean offence.

p.s. he's mentioned the tragedy before on the podcast and how he regrets it happened and how saddened he was by it, for some insight into his views.

Well that's good to hear. I like him in general.

You could hold memorials for them when you have to play a particulary difficult game.

I'm offended by his comments. I mean I haven't listened to them, or the context but they where horride, and I'm really offended by them. I'm going to take to twitter to abuse him, and make fun that his mum died.

Twitter users offended about 96 deaths, only to poke fun at a death close to him, or wish death on him. Football fan in irony overload.

A fair point made by him, delivered somewhat badly.

Stay classy.

:o People really made fun of his mum dying? (Actually not that surprising, probably the same ***** who sing about Munich.)

(Oh and his comments were ****tish regardless the context, he admitted that himself.)

Stop swearing - Gilly

Assume every swear word gets starred bar the **** with an e at the end for some reason.

It's only a fair point if you're under the misapprehension, as indeed Davies was, that it is Liverpool FC who refuse to play on that date.

They do not. They request that fixtures are altered so that the staff and players can attend the HFSG memorial. The FA have always sorted it out. Liverpool have never refused to play.

It's just the same as other clubs requesting fixture changes due to other events such as marches, other sporting events, the weather, ground maintenance etc. Loads of fixtures are moved every season and not just for the telly. I seem to remember earlier in the season, Liverpool played twice in three or four days due to a fixture being moved because of a TUC rallye. Or rather, couldn't be moved because of a TUC rallye.

Why are we playing Blackburn tonight instead of last night? I doubt very much (although I don't know for sure) that it was at our request, but there you go.

I can't be bothered posting this again, people obviously can't be bothered to read what I post anyway.

So lets get this straight, Liverpool didn't refuse to play on that date, but asked for it to be moved, seems somewhat similar if you ask me. Surely they would only have been able to refuse to play on that day, if they had been refused permission to move the fixture?

To be honest, he has a point. He was an idiot to say "That **** gets on my ****" but his overall message is quite true in my eyes. As for Liverpool not refusing to play on the 15th, they've never had to refuse to play because the FA allows them to change dates of their games. If the FA didn't allow it I'd be interested to see the Liverpool reaction. Wouldn't surprise me if they did refuse to play.

Baz had a point when he said that one Semi Final could have been played over this weekend. The way it's ended up is crazy and it's the first time I've ever felt bad for Chelsea. It's the FA's fault

It's exactly the same as refusing, they're entering a competition with the condition from day one that they will be unable to fulfil a fixture on a certain date.

It's crazy, and will only continue this way because it has already been allowed. If a club enters a competition then it should be available to play any given fixture just like every other club that enters, the reason behind why they won't play on a certain date is irrelevant.

How the **** is asking for a fixture to be moved the same as refusing to play?

We played City on a Sunday evening kick off, then had to play Chelsea in the CC quarter final on the tuesday, isn't Chelsea's game on the wednesday vs Barca?

Whether it is a request or a refusal depends on how lenient the FA are. They've negatively impacted another football club by moving it. If Chelsea said they couldn't fulfil the fixture other than on the alloted date, and Liverpool said they couldn't meet the date that the fixture was actually scheduled for, what would be the outcome? Would Liverpool then refuse to play?

@alandavies1 You ******* absolute ******, so glad your mum died, LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Times about a thousand. It's unacceptable what these Liverpool fans are doing. I can understand some discomfort at hearing his views and people disagreeing with them, but I can't accept that transforming into this abuse.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Also a CC 1/4 and CL Semi vs Barca are quite different tbf

There are idiots everywhere though, just forget they are football fans and think of them as the kind of low life scum that end up in prison.

It's always going to happen. I've seen worse aimed at Wayne Rooney on Twitter for absolutely nothing from all manner of people.
