You ain't True Blue though G|mpy, personally I don't care what he's done to other teams:)

Aye like Winter says hes a cracking business man when hes working for
you, not so good when he knackers things up before buggering off to
whats quite clearly the main rivals for trophys

He did the dirty on Umbro then us, wouldnt surprise me in the slightest
if he did the same to Chelsea in the future

But im not bitter :)

Now back on topic

Apologies

I was at the Old Trafford game last season in our 3-1 win, when the Man U fans starting singing "Stand up if you hate Peter Kenyon" the majority of Chelsea fans present including myself joined the other 66000 fans in removing our bums from the seats.

Classic! :) Kenyon was a life time Utd fan who left Old Trafford as soon as he seen some money bags being flashed before his eyes.

With regards to Gilly, he is entitled to an opinion, I don't agree with it but I can live with it. I've known loads of Leeds fans over the years and I'd bet right now every single one of them would be feeling the same way. As much as I don't like tarring fans with the same brush, in my experience Leeds fans are all the same and just as predictable.

Not so well thought out really.
A young lad has received an injury which could threaten a career which he has worked to excel in since before he knew what memories were. He will definitely miss a WC, & may never play to the same standards again & you think that insurance policies & care will ease that?

Isn`t the end of the world for him given the set up he has - there are many more unfortunate people, equally in love with what they do, who will not have the same comforts to fall back on.

Would the majority of Spurs fans mourn Campbell breaking his leg and dislocating his ankle?
I'd feel for any player who sustained such an injury, apart from that long haired spitting racist (**sevic?) scumbag & the odd Turk or 2.
You don't want Smith to suffer the way he is & is going to because you know how hard it is with just trivial (in comparison) injuries to play again. You want him to feel bad, but not suffer:)

I expected Gillys response, hes a passionate Leeds fan and didnt like the
fact Smithy left for their bitter rivals

Hes entitled to an opinion like everyone else

Just do what i do and treat him with the contempt he deserves ;)

im going to enjoy being part of this forum :) some passionate argueing/discussion goes on which to me seems a bit silly since its being done over text....but interesting at the same time.

Its not only that, its also the fact that he undid any passion he'd shown at Leeds with the bare-faced lie about never joining them, along with the comments that on Leeds' relegation they ceased being rivals.

Thats not something a true Leeds fan who is supposed to love the club would say.

Any good work he'd done at Leeds was written off that day, and 99% of Leeds fans also wrote him off that day.

Also worthy of note is that I don't hate all those players that left or were pushed out. I hope Jonathon Woodgate recovers from the troubles he's been having and doesn't ever get injured again.

Life's comforts are not monetary alone, when you grow up you'll hopefully experience & realise that:)

Who is Sed? [....insert.....

Your argument about his swearing is quite childish to be honest.

sed=said - playground slang

Presume Steve Bruce`s daughter is the source of the charity rumour (looking at her Dad, she cant be up to much). His attitude on the pitch is epitomised by the running swearing - from what I can tell, referees let him off because they realise he doesn`t have the vocabulary to pad out full sentences without expletives.

The strange thing about this injury (unlike Busst/Cisse/Larsson) is that at the time/first glance it didn't really look all that bad. It's pretty unsual that you see someone get such a serious injury with no intervention (tackle etc) from other players, took me a few replays to see the extent of it. Despite the best efforts of the BBC commentary team, I found it very hard to believe that, as hard as he can hit them, Risse's shot had somehow managed to cripple Smith.

To be honest I don't think I'll ever be as shocked by an injury as I was by David Busst's, after that I've been kinda numbed to these kind of things. I've always had Smith down as a fairly dirty/overcommitted player, but I wouldn't wish this kind of thing on him.

Hopefully he'll be back playing again by 2007.

Less of that ;)

My point is more along the lines that thousands of athletes fail to make anything of their potential due to injury - and struggle as a result. He`s in a far more secure position than the majority. He is no world beater - the public have not been robbed of any majestic ability, he doesn`t have to worry about paying his medical bills. As tragedy`s go, this is chipped tooth.

Have you not considered that football is what he loves, and money means nothing too him. This could stop him doing what he wants to do for the rest of his life.
Did you not see that Dyer considered suicide due to not being able to do what he loved, play football.

This particular case is different. Its the worst of the lot.
Why do you think of him as the worst of the lot Gilly?
I would have thought that Kewell,Rio,Cantona and Viduka would head the disliked ex-Leeds players list ahead of Smith, who at least stayed on until the bitter end,and didn't screw you over with his transfer deal
