Alien: Isolation...

im still a big wuss when it comes to playin this, 30 min sessions max before i have to put it to one side for a while :p

Seems I am the same, just picked it up at the end of the steam sale and am getting no where fast. I might have to get my wife to sit with me while I play it :D ....haven't even seen the damn alien yet!

Just started this and have to agree it's bloody terrifying with the surround headphones on! Must say they've nailed the feel of the movies though, performance and graphics are very good.

Hey,

Totally fell in love with this game after the first hour, and now I've totally fallen out with it after this show-stopping bug:

http://forums.alienisolation.com/fo...story-arc-issues/21566-bug-with-rewire-points

TL;DR - whenever I interact with a rewire point the game essentially "freezes" - I am unable to interact with the rewire point, nor am I able to exit out using the Q key. The only way out is to quit the game and reload the last save point...

Did anyone else hit this bug? If so, how did you solve it please?!

Cheers,

Su

I did have an issue with the computers/rewires and it was because of crossfire, I had to disable it for the game, but with the recent amd drivers and windows 10 not come across the problem so far

Hmm, ok a restart later, and all seems to be working fine (I've done 10 or so rewires successfully since then)... fingers crossed it holds up!

sgavan, I'm not running Crossfire, just a single R9 380... the only notable thing about my rig is the fact that I'm only packing 4GB of RAM, which has caused a couple of Windows low RAM warnings...

Cheers,

Su

Hi guys,

Completed SP last night managing over 24 hours on it; a lot of stop/starting but I got there eventually... the last 4 or 5 hours have flown by and I'd really gotten into it! Great stuff.

Right, on to the DLC. I've got the Ripley Edition so have Last Survivor and Crew Expendable but what are they like? I'm after main game style missions really if I'm honest, I'm not really into the 'survival' type stuff. Also, what's the rest of the DLC like, anything there worth getting? The Season Pass for this one seems to have held it's price - must be for a reason :p

Thanks.

You already have the only DLC worth buying. I bought the season pass its a waste of money all survival type missions pretty samey as well.

Main game is one of the best ever made :D

Season Pass DLC is some of the worse ever sadly :(

Thanks for that but I gave in, picked it up for just over a fiver so not too bad...

Any idea on how you access the new content? Steam says it's installed but although it's ticked, it says the Season Pass isn't installed.

How do I select the new content? I can only see the two bits that I had before

Or is it all on Survivor Mode?

I think I've hit a weird bug...

Right at the beginning of Level 7, I am crawling around in the underfloor ducts trying to avoid three armed survivors. However as soon as I open the only other exit to the ducts, the Xeno reaches in and grabs me... GG. Happened three times in a row, but luckily the save point is very close.

Am I missing something or is this some sort of weird glitch? The only other option would be to take the humans head on, or use something to bring the Xeno in to finish them off...

Cheers,

Su

I think if I finally played this, sweet FX would be what kills me, that atmosphere, and the main difference I saw was a slight decrease in light levels adding to realism

I bought this a few months ago but haven't gotten into it at all . It looks (though lots of jaggies) and runs very well but I'm just not grabbed by it . . . and I'm a huge fan of the films :p

Its the frustrating nature of the game:

Open emergency door > but first power up generators to said door . oh you'l need a key card to access the generators > find the crew manifest to know who has the keycard and where etc etc. . . . yawn

Was my Game of the Year 2014 :)

I'm hoping that Fallout 4 turns out to be really good, its the only thing I can think of that I've played in 2015 that might possibly be worth being my Game of the Year 2015. If it turns out to be a flop then I don't really have anything that has been good enough for me to call my Game of the Year for this year.
