Alien: Isolation...

I suppose I should return to it at some point. Chalked up 10 hours but got bored after a couple of sessions trying to complete the same quest where it seemed that whatever I did the alien would find me and the novelty of hiding for 30 minutes and then being killed and starting again (due to the save system) had worn off.

Uh... not being funny, but SweetFX just makes the dark areas much darker? Like Doom 3 :p can't the same thing be achieved by just turning the gamma down...?

You're not using it right then fella (if you have used it yourself?) Sweet FX and the newer reshade can significantly enhance many games.

It takes time and effort though to get it right and you need to tweak settings to your own monitor and setup.
Most presets that people upload are waaaay overcooked and far too contrasty so you end up losing details in the the shadows etc etc.

It's highly configurable and goes way beyond just gamma and brightness tweaking.

Finally completed this today - what a game!

The ending was definitely way too scripted, and the Xeno harassment for the last two levels was certainly getting annoying. However, on the whole, what a game! And that cliffhanger ending... Sega MUST greenlight a sequel, right?!

My god i saw it in a friend of mine today. What a great game.

Except the obvious (atmosphere, graphics, immersion, horror) i loved the same thing i loved in SOMA. The little screens, terminals, tools etc etc and interaction with them.

Its so unfortunate i cant play it as any other big game, as i cant play over 2 hours per day because of no time and i lose immersion.

Maybe i ll buy it in a steam offer one day and we ll see.

I'd happily pay the full price for it still, one of the greatest games ever imho and I'm not saying that lightly.
Took me ages to get into it but I'm so glad I did. One of the most immersive gaming experiences ever imo! I didn't want it to stop by the end :(

Hopefully a sequel soon? The 'time-based' DLC did absolutely nothing for me...

I paid £26.99 for mine on release day,and it was money well spent :D

Honestly, this is the sort of game I would have pre-ordered in a heartbeat, but after getting stung by Colonial Marines, I now have a zero tolerance policy on pre-orders :(

Making myself play the sensible man's game and waiting for reviews etc...

is that the cheapest its been ? i wanna play it but just dont know when il get around to playing it

Just checked istheranydeal and apparently the lowest its ever been is £6.39 from SilaGames, and is that price at the moment. Though I've never heard of them or used them, so not a clue if they are okay.

I guess it also could have been a bit cheaper from some dodgy key sites, but at the end of the day at £7.99 you're not gonna save a massive amount more if you wait ages.
