I have just completed this on medium settings.

I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with this game; it's easily in my top 10 of best games ever played.

The graphics and sound are amazing and they create an atmosphere that feels very true to the movies (especially the first). I really liked the feeling of vulnerability as this setup some incredibly tense moments – for me that’s what an Alien experience should be like!

If you haven’t played this game you really are missing out...

I'd have raised the fact that it's single player only... hence the swift drop.

But they said that about Wolfenstein: The New Order and I'm still waiting for that drop!

Still too scary to play with the oculus. If the lights go off in a room, I'm IN that room with the lights going off....argh!

How scary is this?

We're starting to see some good prices, but as I get older, I'm not the best with games that are going to scare me. I remember bricking myself at the original film - but it was so amazing.

If you like the films and the concept the it simply is a must play game. Even if you didn't care/didn't like the films its a great game on it own merit.

Make sure you play it on hardcore!! Yes it's much harder but makes it much more of an adrenaline ride!

Dont play it in daylight or the volume down and dont turn off the ingame music. To get the full effect, play at night - or curtains closed during the day, make it as dark as possible - with headphones on with the volume quite high.

Genuinely scary as you are vulnerable and quite defenseless early on in the game. The ironic genius is in other games you would run away from the enemy quickly, in this you cant as it creates too much noise and attracts the alien and it is much faster than you.
