Alien: Isolation...

As has been said I think previously, the atmosphere is very reminiscent of System Shock 2.

Dark and you hit people over the head with a metal tool. :-)

I really should get back to playing that through, stopped when I had to find the code in the pictures. Completed it when it was originally released and had to buy the GOG patched version, scariest game I'd played to that point. :)

got the game over 2hs ago now, im hooked. loving the story, the visuals and the feel. Also its late, all the lights are off and my surround sound is on I am bricking it on every corner.

Graphics wise, loving the atmosphere however the quality for me wasn't upto scratch so heres what I did:

did the FOV, lighting and 4k shadows tweak - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=324612199

Downscaled to 1440p@96hz, forced 16x via NVCP. played around with FOV and now its just about perfect! shame I cant force decent AA and when using SLI the SMAA T2X option is not available. But its just about as good as it will get, next up I shall try out SweetFX!

fps is super smooth with SLI although I have to turn Vsync off to get it butter smooth which is strange, and I have not as yet found a way to cap at my refresh rate via a config file as I normally do on other games

Ah the Engineer's ship?
I was wondering wtf was going on for a moment then realised it was a flashback :D

Yeah that's the bit.

I knew I was walking to one of the ships and seeing it, walking inside to that massive room with the space jockey and the eggs underneath was cool :D

Just wish I could have walked faster.

Using Nvidia Inspector. AA settings don't seem to change a thing so the shader based AA is pretty hard to get around, however this makes things at least a bit nicer

will update with ingame settings, basically turn ingame AA to bi-linear and set to 16x in your driver. and turn off motion blur/film grain if your picky like I am.

downsampling using Nvcp to 1440p @ 96hz using the standard method.

Ingame screens:

Strangely the screens do not do the game justice it actually looks a lot clearer but the screens came up a bit blurry if you ask me taken via steam screenshot manager

Ok I couldn't hold out and had to play the DLC's and WOW, Really really sucked me in, really captures the first film in it's glory.

She even sings .... you .... are ... (my) ... lucky ..... star .... like in the movie, activating the Nostromos self destruct mechanism and rushing back to escape it really gets the heart going.

Well done to The Creative Assembly for bringing us this little gem, finally the Alien game we've longed for so much.

I'm in bed under the duvet with my phone and I just heard a noise.

Not happy.

LOL!

I watched Alien last week then played all of Alien Isolation, watched Aliens last night and am now watching Aliens 3 in bed!

Pretty sure I have Post-Alien Stress Disorder :D

Sure it isn't as good as the first two (Alien is by far the best IMO) but I like 3, Fincher is a good director and Charles Dance is good in it.
The fourth film is the nonsense abomination of the series :p

Good question. I keep seeing people mentioning chapters, but I haven't seen a chapter structure ingame anywhere?

Also, I see people talking about holding their breath when hiding, but I don't see any prompts to.

you only get prompts if the alien walk right past the locker your hiding in
