I'm so jealous of you guys playing this on PC. I'm buying it today for XB1, but desperately want to play it in front of a PC with the settings on max and a nice headet. Been happy away from the PC gaming scene until this game...now I'm getting tempted.

If it wasn't for my unborn son being due any day now, I'd have bought myself a nice PC by now

Playing this through with a mate on TS who's doing the same, we're waiting for the other to catch up at certain bits. It's like single player co-op and makes things bloody funny.

If the game isn't scaring the bejesus out of us, then we scare each other lol. Highly recommended.

Are headphones and lights off a must for this game?

Not necessarly headphones, but decent sound, yeah. I found that hearing what's going on is vital.

I also found that the music can interfere with hearing the sound effects and had to turn it down, even on a decent hifi with full dynamic range selected in the game options. No biggie to just change the levels though.

It isn't scary, no matter how you play it. :(

Got to agree. I've had a couple of jumps, but just from barrels exploding etc. The game just does not scare me like FEAR did all those years back...

I still don't get the whole missions thing? What defines a mission? I'm up to finding a trauma kit - which mission am I on? I must hav about 5 hours or so?

See the above comment :p

Why does the character move so slowly? It's frustrating as hell.

Makes the game appear longer ;)

Hah, it's not even that, I don't know what it is, I just don't find it scary. I'm not immune to scary games, Amnesia scared me witless, and I almost had a heart attack playing Pineview Drive. I did a Let's Play of it, and it's just me screaming like a girl for the majority of the time. The atmosphere in this game just doesn't scare me, and neither does the Alien. That isn't to say it's a bad game, I'm still really enjoying it!

The Alien in general scares the crap out of me, It always has done, In the films, In the various games, HR Giger knew how to create 1 scary creature.

Do you find that you're encountering the Alien at similar times/places to each other or is it quite dependent on how you personally are playing?
