Alien: Isolation...

Finally remembered my password, new pc and all etc. Downloading as we speak. I swear to god if those androids give me nightmares...

Should be fine just making sure, temp pc:

i5 3570
asrock b75 m-atx
8gb corsair lp ram
asus 760

Guessing it should be fine near enough max settings at 1080p?

Just got past medical which I was stuck on (couldn't find a keycard but it was closer than I thought!)

The escape part was so intense! The android before it used both of my stun baton rounds but I didn't get hurt, but the alien kept shifting to a different vent everytime I moved forward, so I had to avoid all of them. Used the alien to clear out a guarded section shortly after that too, but it then prowled the area making it very slow for me to progress to the next area.

Story related spoiler

The bit where you go back to LV426 through the prisoners eyes was amazing. Dropping down into the egg chamber was easily the highlight of the game so far for me.

Just installed this on my PC, using my Xbox One controller to play it, fantastic so far :)

PC is basically not in a case right now though so it's a bit of a mess lol, going to buy the Corsair 240.

screw it, ordered it off cd keys bored of current game catalogue

Its great. Bit of a slow start but throws you in the deep end and rarely relents after that. I thought it would remind me of outlast but it doesn't as you can defend yourself on this against anything but the alien. Working out if you can trust androids and people you encounter is tricky too!

What are people referring to when they say chapters? I'm up to the bit where I have to find a trauma kit but I've had no mention of chapters yet?

Everyone saying how good the atmosphere is - I went back to try the game normally and whilst it looks better in 1440p, it has nothing on the atmosphere playing in VR. Looking around corners, up at things and generally feeling inside the game is a totally different experience.

The only time I have every had a similar 'wow' factor was playing unreal in 3dfx for the first time (first time reflection, fog, water etc)

Good question. I keep seeing people mentioning chapters, but I haven't seen a chapter structure ingame anywhere?

Also, I see people talking about holding their breath when hiding, but I don't see any prompts to.

There are no Chapters, only Missions, 18 of them and then the two DLC which are pretty excellent also where you play out two scenes from the Alien film!

Omg this is intense, really captures the first film in a lot of ways, I am laying in bed playing this in the dark and it's creeping me out haha.

Just encountered the Alien, well he killed Axel, and I was waiting for the transit and the music playing was intense, keep peeking over the box to see if the Alien was coming while I waited, fantastic game so far.

Yeah I'll be on that after I've completed the story :) "Crew Expendable" and "Last Survivor"
