Alien: Isolation...

Just finished...game of the year...nay possibly decade :D

I've never been simultaneously so happy and disappointed to finish a game.

Nerves are shot...going to play sims ;)

I was so "in the zone" during the last few missions I realised I was creeping past save points without using them as my focus was entirely on the alien.

Wait the Alien comes back?

Nah, you've got nothing to worry about mate. Keep striding about confidently with the shotgun, taking out androids with wreckless abandon. It's just another FPS once the alien is gone.

(titter titter) :D

Edited just in case anyone hadn't guessed what was going to happen next. :)

I did get brave after the Alien went, explored every inch of the station...then things changed :(

Thinking about sequel possibilities.

What I think could be good is if they tackled the story of what happened on LV-426, Hadley's Hope colony.

From the film Aliens they describe the evidence of the last stand and the hell of a fight that must have taken place.

Wouldn't that make an excellent game?

Nail...hit...head, it's the next logical step for this.

just flew by mission 7. **** me that was a damn sight easier than medical labs which were a nightmare.

I lobbed a noisemaker right under the noses of the a group of people at the start of mission 7, then again at the end.. Sit back, don't move and watch.. Legendary stuff!

Loving this game at the minute and really far into it too (mission 15 now).

The bit in the nest was amazingly tense. So dark as well, making the flashlight or flares an actual necessity for a change (one of my minor gripes in the game is that most areas are pretty well lit lol).

The androids in the rubber suits are also a walking nightmare. After returning to medical I quickly had one of them after me so I set him on fire and moved away. The alien dropped down and attacked me moments later, so I used the flame thrower again to drive it off. Sadly the android forced me under a ventilation shaft and the alien got me anyway about 10 seconds after lol.

Dammit, why can't steam put this on their Halloween sale. :(

I know it's only been three weeks, but still, a small discount would be nice.

Buy a steam key elsewhere then. you can get this game for about £17-£18. Why do you need the steam sale
True, I suppose it's still too early to expect a lower price than that. I didn't realise you could get it as low as £17 elsewhere - I will have a look.

After playing quite a lot of this im finding it even more funny about the reviews that said it was too long. I haven't once been bored yet and its surprising how varied the game is. At first I wasn't sure how they could keep a game about an alien chasing you going for 15-20 hours but theres so many new areas and variations to what you have to do that keep it fresh.

I absolutely love the game, its my current game of the year. However, I would actually agree that it is too long, but only by about an hour or two. Its the last hour or so that taints it slightly for me, that last hour drags on quite a bit with all the "almost-made-its" in the story.
