Alien: Isolation...

Could not resist re-preordering again as £5 discount 27th Sept today only if you order online from Game for the PC-DVD Rom version only with the 2 pieces of DLC included Ripley is Game exclusive for a few months.

That means only need the season pass for the other content so it works out £29.99 + £14.99 season pass not too bad vs the original price was around £50-57

Pewdiepie is doing a playthrough of this already due to being given the game by sega as a promo due to his 31 million subscribers. As expected, he seems to know sod all about the game and literally just jumped straight into it, but the explanation of how you end up on the station in his first video (only one currently available) is actually better than I expected. Really looking forward to this game.

Sega must be very sure of the positive review to let him have it this early ;)

Who knows as hes a great marketing tool simply due to popping up on 31 million youtube subscribers feeds, if not more due to the recommendation thing that the website uses. They could have easily said "heres 50k, just sit there and do a normal video but don't say anything too negative please".

sigh i wish he wouldnt talk over the intro, but MUST stop myself watching any more of that series before i get the game. Was a good move by sega as raised my hype a lil more :D

Played it yesterday at Eurogamer but didn't think much of it as it was a timed play session of a paltry 10 minutes.

They had a level where you're in some kind of large industrial base with piping etc laying around. Similar to your average colonial base that Aliens was set in - where Newt was found.

You've got to make your way to a waypoint as theres some zonking 9foot alien wandering around. A flame thrower is available at the start to ward it off (not kill it) though you have only 2 uses. We were playing on the Xbox One version and the choppy frame rate and overly sensitive controls were a mess. The textures up close were very, very poor too - pipes and doors looked pixelated as did those circular vent/duct entrances.

It was quite unnerving though and you have to spend a lot of time crouched whilst observing that 'rangefinder' as you slowly make your way to the waypoint. Most of my group lasted for about a minute though as the frame rate and controls made things unpleasant. The environmental ambience was rather good though and resembles a lot of what we experienced whilst watching the alien trilogy - steam, strong use of reverb in various places and containers being knocked over easily.

this game looks like it would give me the chills like resident evil did was back in the day! i remember jumping out of my skin when the dogs jumped through the window lol

yup also it didnt say how many attempts it took to get that time, but thats basically a time attack mode which he was doing to get the fastest time, he said his original time was around 8 mins, and in the end he was like 1 min 6 secs once he figured out the path and had a bit of decent rng with the alien
