Alien: Isolation...

Swilley.

"<Setting name="Graphics">
<Setting name="Stereo Mode">
<Quality name="Rift" precedence="4"/>

</Setting>" is what mine is. Do I have to alt tab, shift and windows key at a certain time?

Just so you know.....the save feature does not save the AI of the Alien and/or its position.......if you saved and it is right on your tail, you can reload the game and the Alien starts over again and it wont be right behind you.
I noticed that last night, such a relief :)

I've seen some really odd reviews for this don't make any sense. My only complaint so far is the lack of Anti-Aliasing, but that is not important right now!

Been playing it on Hard, in total darkness with my MMX300's and the very impressive 5.1 surround emulation of the Asus STX... and it's truly terrifying :D So clever how you can actually hear the Alien legging it about in ducts behind you!

I've not played a game that has scared me this much, since Silent Hill on the PS1 :eek:

Last night while trying to find somewhere to hide, I came across a room I had not been in before... already in quite a bit of a state, I opened the door only to be greeted by a very loud explosion! Some git of an android had boobie trapped the door!

I had to stop playing shortly after that :p

I really can't get into this game. I'm at the first bit where people are trying to kill me and I'm getting bored working out how to get past it.
Make them see you and shoot at you... then leg it! Simples... well sort of ;)

Awesome game for anyone who loves stealth and being scared to the point that one needs a clean pair of undies lol

Off to play some more!

I don't think the working Joe's do that. If I'm thinking of the right bit (in Medical) then that is part of the storyline.

** Use spoiler tags to avoid 'spoiling' it for others **

Grab the ladder in front of you...

I don't think its that part he's talking about because I had a similar experience with the random exploding room too.

Its quite early on just before that largish room where that woman shoots at you (mission 3 I think?).

room just blows up and and everything is on fire. You can saunter around a bit and grab a couple of supplies but it didn't seem to be there for any reason and it didn't occur again (at least in my play through.

That's the one. To be honest I forgot about the working Joe on fire though. At the time I remember thinking that this is going to be a reoccurring thing but apparently not.

There are many games that are technically more advanced but simply don't look as good nor come close to maintaining this level of atmosphere, this game is simply a showcase for game direction.

I was grabbed out of my hiding spot for the first time last night by a working joe. I shot him in the forehead twice and paused, thinking I had saved myself, only for him to ooze out the holes and bash my head in anyway while staring at me with those red eyes. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time.

Ok this is my GOTY so far. Finished it yesterday. Played PC version on 55" plasma with audio-technica headphones, on hard difficulty.
Insane, intense experience, one of a kind. Best Alien game ever.

That said, I am sad the ending was so abrupt. Characters deserved better characterization and ending cutscene needed more elaboration and punch.
But even, then I still absolutely loved it.

And that dark ambient credits song. Brilliant. I hope Sega will let Creative Assembly build another Alien game.

Tech-wise, it was first PBR featuring game I think, and it looked stunning. Super optimized, framerate never dropped below 60. Did not have any bugs or crashes either.

My thoughts and experience exactly......10 out of 10 experience for me.

Some small parts I would change if being fussy.....but a masterpiece of a game IMO.

Finished this last night, what an utterly fantastic game. The last two missions were probably a bit unnecessary, felt a bit drawn out, but other than that...10/10.

The atmosphere, the graphics...everything was just brilliant. I normally hate stealth games but gave this a chance given the franchise, but this game doesn't feel like it's forcing you to be stealthy, more that you want to be stealthy given the Alien stalking you.

I really hope there is a sequel but I have the DLC (Last Survivor and Crew Expendable) to keep me going for a little bit
