ill give that a go, anything else to recommend?
Try both HDR peak 1000 and HDR true black modes to see which you prefer those are the most accurate modes. you will need to run the HDR app again though for each mode.

Some games still can be adjusted in there display settings so always check if there are any HDR setting also.

I never said not to use HDR 1000 it's personal preference, HDR true black tends to keep the brightness at around 500nits without any abl kicking in and tracking of the EOTF curve is better.

Just pick one you prefer really.

What you said was:

Set the HDR mode to true black in the monitor settings menu and then run the HDR calibration app

That is what made me wonder if running it on true black potentially was better for the hdr calibration.

What makes sense is running it on whichever you are going to ultimately end up using I guess.

Yeah for watching content especially with proper HDR, TB400 is the better option for overall HDR brightness (the mids). For HDR gaming, most games don't have properly implemented HDR, and it's a game so mids are ever evolving, so probs best staying Peak 1000.

This is why I currently still dislike gaming in HDR, it's a mish mash of whatever the devs want. For me HDR is all about movies/TV shows.

Will just stick to Peak 1000 as I don't watch much if any video outside of youtube on it. Primarily about gaming. In windows I use SDR.
