Just ordered one. Say will be here Monday… got to love DPD in my area it will be hear Saturday

Snap !.

One of my PCs is a 12700KF so no need to upgrade that. The other (TV PC) is your 11700KF so no need to upgrade that (rig runs at 4k too, that one) but my away PC for gaming has a 3950x. With crap RAM. Back when RAM was still selling for loads I bought some RAM with the worst speed and timings ever because I needed 32gb for design. So to make it way better for gaming I got a 5700X3D today (coming Sat) and 32gb Patriot 3600 blackout for £70.

I almost bought a 14600KF, 32gb DDR5 and a B760i Strix, so it cost me half to go with the 5700X3D.

Still annoyed AMD did not give us the 5600X3D but hey I will take it. Same price as that was too, so I guess the Americans got screwed for once and not us :D

It was the PUBG results that made the decision for me. I mean, if this is true (and it is an official slide) then it is as fast as a 14900K in PUBG.

So the same price as a second hand (or new in some places) 5800x3d, warranty or a few hundred mhz? Hmm tricky

Surely it can be overclocked?

Not that I would bother really. In fact, if it runs a bit cooler than the 5800X3D that would be nice (they are a bit warm I hear). Then again I do have a 360 AIO so that shouldn't be a biggy.

Oh I am, no need to upgrade as I'd end up being GPU bound anyway but when has common sense ever prevailed?

What res do you game at. At 1080p it gives a good kick up the ass to even old GPUs as there all cpu bound

My son as a 3070 and had a 5600 the GPU would do say 120fps in games but sit at 75% usage as the cpu was capped

1440p with an RX7600..
On a 5600 right now, again, no need for me to upgrade as I use the steamdeck more than the PC for gaming.

But I want to..

Any one got theirs yet?

Mine is coming today, but not until tonight. Not sure if I will get the chance to fit it as I am leaving soon so I may not get to play til I come back.

Still waiting for someone to actually review it. Though if AMD don't send any samples most of the tight gets won't bother.

Nope, looks like Monday for me.
i had a 13500 that was TBF a kick ass gaming chip with ddr5. the 13600k is about 7% faster and AMD is saying this should be again about 4% faster than the 13600k(at stock).
the problem with the 5700x3d will be the DDR4 ram. but it should still be a fast chip.

When i moved the 13500 from ddr4 to ddr5 in the games i plaid it was about 15% faster

Nice to see AM4 still in the game, but I think next pc will be an mini pc although tempted on the 8700g but those mini itx AM5 boards are pricey.

I need to look into how the 5800X3D scales with faster RAM to get an idea of the 5700's scaling.
A quick look at someone on Reddit doing that shows a 0-9% improvement (usually barely anything) from 3200>3733 so I reckon I'd be safe with my 3600 for now.
