**AMD Fiji Thread**

AMD co hosted the worlds first ever E3 PC event, and chose that stage to launch their new GPU range.

There is no conspiracy here.

Why on earth would they send their new product samples to Ryan Shrout, or Kitguru samples before they did that?

It literally is the most stupid thing in the world for people to get upset about.

Do Sony send out the new products to the Ryan Shrout equivalent or KitGuru equivalent before even announcing their new products?

No ! No they bloody don't.

This is just more anti AMD rhetoric, unsurprisingly from the usual group here. It's getting sad now. It was already boring.

These entitled men children, crying, slating and now sat there expecting samples probably needed a wake up a call.

I think we can all take a lesson from this, don't be a crying whinge baby and expect people not to treat you like one.

I'm not having a go, I'm simply trying to put forward an argument for their (reviewers) side of things too. As for them being babies and its not AMD's fault ? It never does seem to be their fault, It's not as though AMD didnt blame Nvidia for their **** up over Witcher 3 and gameworks. When it comes to AMD, nothing is ever their fault.

Agreed! LambChop seeing how much you hate anything amd, won't buy games that have amd partnership. You spend a lot of your time in amd threads.
We get it you hate amd.

Did you miss the post in which I said the Nano was genius ? But if it helps you to generalise over me, then so be it.

First of all every single card overclocks differently.
Which is exactly why a comparative review showing by what degree they over-clock differently is needed....

Two cards with card A performing better at stock, but with a 5% over-clock potential vs Card B performing 2% worse at stock with a 15% over-clock potential.

The better card is then shown for those who will over-clock, against those who will not.

Putting cards under water would be impossibile (for time and resources) for the majority of outlets.
Which isn't a reason for the larger outlets, who would be the ones best suited to do it anyway.

To be honest I prefer reviews with everything @ stock, you still get the baseline to realize how differently they perform.
The baseline matters little when pretty much all enthusiasts will over-clock to the maximum of the air or water setup they have.

Most of the larger sites graphics card reviews always seem to fail on this pretty basic comparative test.

I mean, currently I'm using the EVGA 970 SC, but was able to get a stable over-clock of 14% on-top of the out of the box over-clock or a 12% performance increase on air alone. Others have reported 22% over-clocks (max in water) which makes a very noticeable different for in-game performance.

These ratios make a card for more or less desirable, I'm hoping the Fury X shines here as they stated at the promo event.

That's not even the issue. reviewers were all going to get samples.

These guys wanted samples before AMD had even announced them at E3.

They publicly cried about it and slated AMD, trying to portray it as some kind of tin foil hat conspiracy.

Now AMD have actually had the chance to announce their products they are sending out samples for reviewers. And if AMD have chosen not to send them to people who have publicly slated them and acted like entitled cry babies. Good for them. AMD is doing the right thing. Only other cry babies would think otherwise.

I agree entirely. It's a daft line of discussion. Just adding my 2p to the signal to noise ratio!

I see your point, I disagree about AMD always being right. In fact the general consensus seems to be anti AMD, remember they are the minority. Not Nvidia.

If AMD do wrong then they do wrong. Bulldozer was wrong, No drivers for months is wrong. AMD have been called out frequently, in fact even when Nvidia can't release a stable driver since 350.12. The general thinking is that AMD are still the ones that have driver issues.

This situation though AMD are doing the right thing. Why send samples of a product that they haven't even announced. Then add the fact that these guys in question Ryan Shrout, Kitguru, Linus not only expected samples before AMD announced them, but then went on to publicly slate AMD via social media. Why on earth should AMD give them anything?

This is a good lesson for all.

As far as the not sending out review samples is concerned, it might be down to a shortage of them. So any where that could be knocked off of the list to send samples too was removed, for whatever reason AMD wanted to use,

What i mean is if you have to cut down your wedding guest list for example, you have tobe brutal and you look for any reason to cut someone from the list, starting with those who havnt been as nice to yuo as others, nothing wrong with it at all. It is quite possibly just a necessity on AMD' part.

HBM is new, we don't know how well it copes. But from leaked benchmarks it seems to struggle when over 4k (5k+)

But get 4, because overkill :)

So it will cope fine at 4K with max settings? I guess it is too early to tell but I would hate to get them and find out I have to lower settings. I currently have a Single 290X on 1080P 60 Hz but I will be upgrading at the end of the month to 4K and a couple of new cards. Games I am playing a lot are advanced warfare, The Witcher 3, GTA V and I will be getting a few others like Batman and battlefront. Thanks for the help.

boom any chance you can remake this thread after benchmarks or something
i dont mind the topic right now
id like to add to it
i just cant be bothered if its all going to get deleted again! zzzz

If this is the case they have chosen very selectively by accident.

Linus`s target market wont be buying these cards - they are the ones who worship pewdiepie - and cant afford the kit themselves ....

can see this as the new format tbh - and NVidia likely following suit;

new tech , new card - wait till its in the shops.

It doesn't matter who they send the samples to for review. The results will all be similar so what's the problem?

It's a non story.

This.

Who gives a monkeys who has and who hasn't got a review sample early or otherwise? If AMD were not sending review samples to anyone then I could understand the concern but that doesn't appear to be the case. People will still be doing reviews, benchmarks will be posted, the world will still turn and everyone will know how good or otherwise the product is.

No card can cope with 4k at max settings.
either out or soon to be out.
Maybe the fury x2 gets there but max settings forget it.
cards tank fps way to fast for any enjoyable gaming experience.
1080p is a struggle for cards still.

You will adjust settings no way around it.

that's rubbish - I game happily at 4k on max settings ; I do not play twitch kilers or fps , I pay RTS and MMO and they play well already.
