**AMD Fiji Thread**

no he doesn't - he`s throwing his toys out of the pram and having a tantrum.

AMD are doing the right thing

He's clearly not, you're over-reacting, bit like AMD but hey ho. Lets say for arguments sake he is.....

Do truths hurt that much that you have to react to it ? If he is throwing a tantrum and AMD know this, then laugh it off, its all nonsense anyway, isnt it ? Laugh it off, tell him to reel it in then get on with the reviews.

You said something bad about us, you're not getting a card to review is pretty much just as childish.

after that video roy did with tech of tomorrow its really hard for me to think of AMD as "the bigger man" lol
until this guy starts bitching about girls weight then goes on a long cry about being overweight himself and more crying about he had his foot removed then he still has one up on them! hahah

we will have to see who does get cards and if they were more deserving than this guy :)

Roy did the video? I though tech of tomorrow did that video? I'll be dammed :D

All roy did was make a quirky remark about nvidia rebrands as all of this flack and fuss being made over AMD branding at the moment. Roy made a very valid point in that video but made a joke out of it at the same time. Was funny IMO. That video from kitguru just looks like a bloke that has the face on.

Are you for real if he was ******** off Nivida you want him burnt at the stake.

did you watch the same video as the rest of us? sadly not by your `opinion`.

he is having a tantrum . as have the other reviewers who believe they are far more important than those who pay real money to ocuk for these things.

notice pretty much no review site is getting a card for free this time.

It's like the Fury X running at 4K would still benefit from having freesync as most games still aren't breaking 60fps. Then again, the same could be said for anything.

I will be gaming on a Dell 3415w which is 3 million pixels under the 4K count. So the frame rate should easily be over 60fps across the board.

Roy took a punt at NVIDIA for rebranding the Titan X as 980Ti, this is slightly less of a point than rebranding an old architecture. Both vendors are guilty of doing either / or at some point. The real question is at what point in time does enough become enough.

hasnt that been common business practice for apple, and many other companies too im sure

id have favouritism who i gave cards to aswell...

I saw the vid a few days ago,he just seemed miffed at not being given special treatment and some of his assertions were ludicrious. It didnt take a lot of thought to figure out why the main sites/channels didnt have review samples at that point.Perhaps amd went a little far in not sending them a sample at all, should just give then one on the 24th,so they lose out on the day1 review clicks.Vid is pretty bad for KG's reputation, very petulant imo

Also, you do not have to like the man or his forward planning in releasing this video, it might have been a little controversial to do so. That being said excluding press from products that are NDA and allowing consumers in is equally so. I would be a little miffed too.

Maybe AMD thinks OEM's are more important than so jumped up press who has a big ego.

Trying to keep up with this thread but it is very hard lol. I guess it is best to wait till there are are lots of reviews out and then see what is what. I am torn between buying a pair of these Fury X's or a pair of 980Ti's but looking for something that will last me a year or slightly longer.

Except again, the 'customers' would be OEM's, and they have always had access long before press, long long before press. For GPU's you'd expect 6 months before release minimum which seems to be the case, partners showing working products at CES was expected and I'm sure suggested at the time. Again any reviewer, anyone who gets press samples for review would know OEM's know WAY more than press and way way earlier. No, no reputable reviewer would be miffed at that, not even in the slightest. You think Anand would be miffed because the Dell CEO is shown Fiji before he is.

AMD>OEM/partners>>>>>>>>>press>launch>consumer.

That is, has always, and will always be the sequence of information being given out.

Hadn't the titan x been out for a while then it got rebranded to a card which is supposed to be below it so titan x is the top card and 980Ti below it.

The 980Ti is exactly the titan x with half the memory fact (well few cuda cores less but makes no difference really) But a lot cheaper. Good for consumers but might leave a bad taste in peoples mouths who got a titan x thinking this card will be unmatched.

The 290x got a refresh, uses less power now, has improved memory so it now has faster memory chips which gives it that 20% more bandwidth. Twice the memory and a slight clock bump and goes from being top end to mid range cards. Not exactly the same thing but still its a rebrand from both companies.

People who own top end cards are not going to be looking at mid range anyway so who cares? Why are people getting so worked up over it? It's still going to be faster than previous gens mid range such as the 280x substantially faster! Yea its bit more pricey than the current 290x but its just released and new cards always have premium prices at first. They will drop eventually.

any news on dx12? might get 2x 290x and crossfire. how is crossfire on the 290x

Not epic, no where near as bad as some would have you believe. I got 2x 290's not long after launch and only in the past few months have I had any noticeable issues. Seeing as Nvidia guys have had more issues in the main game I've had a problem with, Witcher 3, meh.

Ultimately support will be less good right before a new OS launch and maybe new API launch. AMD's focus is Windows 10, which pretty much anyone gaming at all will get a free upgrade to and DX12. Literally every 'performance' game from Sept/Oct onwards will be DX12 and pretty much all currently supported AMD hardware has a significant level of DX12 support. So again we could have better DX11 support in the past few months(single card has been 100% rock solid in everything) but less strong DX12/Windows 10 drivers or, sacrifice a little short term for the longer term.

I suspect a big change (works better overall) with crossfire with Dx12 and win 10 and also sli.
