**AMD Fiji Thread**

Who in AMD thought it would a really good, no, a GREAT idea to put the textured, good looking side where you'll never see it*, and then take the featureless side, put some dirty great ugly stickers on it, and place it where you'll ALWAYS* see it!

*For those of us with a windowed case, of course
You dont look at the case when your gaming mate.:D

Cards have had all the artwork on the wrong side since beginning of time.

But now we have cases like the Lian-Li PC-O series that use a riser cable to display the GPU sticker-side flush with the window.

I don't care what company achieves it, in 5 years time you wont be bothered about monitors, you be playing games in VR at 8k each eye. Running 16-32GB HBM memory, I see the future and it looks very nice. ;)

Then when it becomes really good in 10 -15 years time. How do we not know if we are in VR anyway! Crazy paradox.

Think of the best game graphics 15 years ago, now look !

HBM is to VR as is bread to butter, perfect match from a technological point of view! ;)

Who likes wearing stuff on their head while gaming? Will be uncomfortable, unsociable. Perhaps even eye straining. Sometimes you just want to turn your head left but you don't need the display to also do so.

I guess time will tell. But there are reasons no one likes wearing 3d glasses and a headset would be even worse.

I already game with noise cancelling headphones so im unsociable already :P

On a serious note dont you find pc gaming is far more a solo thing than console games?

We got some good **** coming our way and with this HBM and VR etc. Its going to be bloody fantastic. :D

Shapes up nicely IMO.

So to sum this up, What additional adapters will those of us need running 1080 60hz screens. As many will have triples, so this card only having one HDMI will need two DP to DVI or HDMI , to run the side screens, and will there be any additional lag?

If you run 3 screens there will be a latency hit "no matter what" even if no adapters are used. I run 3 screens in 120hz and these are a bit old 8 years or so and have no issues playing BF games owning people with it. Not optimal but well worth it for gaming. Newer screens might be better and I find that out after I upgraded mine to more modern ones.

Hard to say how VR and gaming will be like but its one option for sure.

3D a gimmick.
VR immersion.

You might use VR for, skype, education, traveling planning checking out a place before you go there and adult stuff that kids cant do yet..... etc...

Lot of things beyond gaming with VR:)

Yeah its stupid that the nice side faces down...but its the same for every card. They could have change it tho as it is on water.

its okay for people who want to use it for just an hour or two
if thats the majority of people these days im not sure!

the people who make the headsets do they really care how long someone uses it aslong as they buy one?
there's a lot of possibilities with it tho and they will get it right its just a matter of time

linus thinks its just for porn! so that shows how his mind works (jokes!) but for sure its not just about gaming...
