AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

I wonder how soon they will have full waterblocks ready for RDNA 2 cards this time around? Or if AMD themselves will offer one like they did with Fury?
If so I do hope to see something a lot sooner then with 5700 xt release.

So what is your presence in this thread for exactly if you're not going to chew the fat and enjoy speculation? If you're just here to discuss what we do know then come back in 6 months, because there's exactly zero squat f-all actual information. And as for my assumptions, yes they are just that, but you're also making the assumption that Nvidia will continue to be "good". What if Ampere turns out to be an utter mess? What if Hopper hits some significant development roadblocks and is delayed for a long time?

And I do see your usual wibblings interpreting any positive language about AMD to be some kind of rally cry aboard the hype train. You seriously need to snap out of that because your continuing contribution to this thread, and others, is nothing more that prattle "oh, he's saying something positive about AMD so he's obviously talking crap and a massive fanboy". Grow up man.

So, if you're going to pass on the tea leaves, what exactly are you going to do, other than spout your utter nonsense? For all the incessant poo-pooing, what have actually got to say?

There is a lot of posts about people defending AMD, especially in a thread titled 'amd blah blah' i.e. the 'AMD driver thread' with an inference that your either a superfan or deluded. You cannot be positive without being labelled one of the two, I think this is the general vibe people are growing tired of. I get it that your calling people out if they talk bull, but anyone worth their salt regarding PC's will pick up on this themselves. Just let them hang themselves, if they are that bad they will get ignored/blocked/banned soon enough.

Most posters here, myself included, are reasonable people. We don't want to ban optimism about AMD. We applaud honesty and balanced opinions.

However patterns of posting from select individuals get called out for crossing a line. On one side of that line is optimism; on the other side is bias, hype and misinformation. Brand loyalty. And often aggression when the dominance of their chosen brand is questioned.

That, too, grates.

From this post i do rather think this a good request tho.....

Actually, we could use our fans help. One of the problems of past launches is the rumor milling of performance claims that seem to become mainstream. And since we are a publicly held company we cannot and do not comment on rumors of OMGBBQSAUCE next gen Radeon will cure make world peace. Unless you hear it from us or a respected reviewer directly, please just say no.

The only official communication from us are the slides from yesterday's financial analyst day showing our roadmap through 2022, expected 50% perf/watt generational improvement from navi 1 to Navi 2, Navi 2 will include RTRT, VRS and more and will launch in 2020. Then, there is my commitment to the community to not have blower fans at launch for our reference designs.

Our goal since the launch of RDNA and 5000 series is to be transparent and straightforward with any performance claims, validated by press. We understand this hasn't always been how the community has viewed RTG in the past, and that is why we are working hard to change the over-hyped past.

<edited because curing world peace is weird>

I agree 100%. It's funny how someone else(read tech tuber, tech site, forum trolls, etc etc) can be claiming a certain performance level of an unreleased product only to have the company behind the product bashed into oblivion if it doesn't reach this even if they stated nothing of the sort. I think your quote should be practices more often no matter the company or product but then 90% of the "tech" channels on YouTube would not be able to stay afloat, a nice byproduct if you ask me :)

This was their last 4K gaming card.

Looks like Horizon Zero Dawn is being ported from PS4 to PC on steam (yes, it's been about 3 years??) . And it also looks like Sony is dabbling in Streaming services as well and calling them "PC Games".

However, I found this quote intriguing.
And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn't necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don't have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.
This comes off as if he's talking directly with investors IMO. I seriously doubt console players were concerned over this for single player games.

And we're very committed to quality exclusives. And to strong narrative-driven, single-player games.

"At the same time, we're going to be very open to experimentation, to new ideas. Just trying things out to see what works. I think that's also very much part of the DNA of Worldwide Studios."

It was rumored that Sony would get onboard similar to MS on releasing exclusive titles on the PC along with these new console release/RDNA 2 cards for PC. Perhaps he's address those rumors. However, Sony stance on exclusive titles on PC remains nebulous to say the least. I honestly don't see them "staying the course" for their exclusive games as they've done in years past. Perhaps they might go "streaming". But I hope not.

Let's be honest it's normally the fanboys that are responsible for the hype (and the sustaining of the hype), in the build up to some new release.

And it's them who call us trolls and shills if we have any doubt that their over-hyped expectations won't come true...

Remember how the RX480 was going to beat a 980 Ti... I don't think that came from any website, not even wccf (lol). That was the expectation of over-excited forum posters.

Wccftech talked about beast mode RX480 cards. Every bit of information leaked from credible sources hinted at R9 290/R9 390 level overall performance.

I never forget all the lies they told about the RX 480. That is why I avoid that website like the plague.

Well I try to, but Loadsamoney makes sure I get to see their fake news here regularly :p

:D

The 480 being a 1070 beater, hilarious :p

Oh how we all ****** when it only matched the 970, and everyone was posting lol, they've finally brought out their own 970 etc.... :D

Yea. I never forget that. I was well disappointed when we finally saw the results. They were on 14nm and could only manage to match a gimped 28nm card. Lol.

WCCF did have leaks saying it was faster than a 1070, I am nearly sure. And there really was only one forum member who believed that the 480 was going to beat the 980Ti. Everyone else on the forum during that debate was telling him that this wasn't going to be the case.

Humbug was it not? Lol.

Although I never believed it would be that good as I recall, I expected it to be better than it eventually turned out.

I expected it to be better than it was for sure, but I never 'believed' anything and was just going on expectation rather than anything else.

Considering it ended up basically being a shrunk 390X I don't know why anyone wouldn't have expected it to be faster before that was known.

I name no names :p

I don't think the performance was the problem, AMD made it very clear from the start the 480/470 cards were going to be mainstream cards replacing the R9 380 cards. The problem was the price, everyone expected the 480 be around £179, but, they were over £200 apart from a limited number of 4GB cards.
