Yes, no doubt, but thats not the point, it should be nowhere near £599, you should be able to pick em up for about £199, or even £99, its only going to be £599, because of that **** sucking **** Jen, pricing his at £649, so lets all give a big thanks to them Green *****!.

Give it a rest now Loadsa, you made your point, its just getting silly now.

Fact is, there is no escaping the fact, PC gaming is getting cost prohibitive now for many, ever increasing cost of components is pushing people towards consoles and other gaming platforms by the day.

Entry level 1080p gaming at reasonable fps now is a lot more expensive than just 3 or 4 years ago if you buy brand new current gen gear.

A £500 Console will deliver far more bang for buck than a brand new £500 PC.

And ontop of this we have a global pandemic with people losing their jobs left right and centre, and others losing their lives. Yeah you may argue you should only spend what you can afford etc etc, but the amount of uncertainty around, its getting bad that year on year we are getting rinsed more and more by manufacturers. Not just PC stuff either, phones are another market where its spiralling out of control for instance.

The milking needs to stop, really it does.

This may be the last gpu i purchase for myself, thats why i may just go big, to try and last me a good few years before i ultimately jack in PC gaming and go console forever. I bet im not the only one like this as well.

Took my 2 kids out today rock climbing, my brother came along and we discussed the current state of things and hes of the same opinion that maybe its time just to move to 4k 60fps TV gaming on an Xbox Series X with gamepass. Thats a lot of gaming for the price.

Yeah, this is the trick. AMD's Ryzen 5000 event showed pretty bar charts and numbers and they talked about how they've improved themselves against their previous gen, and it was almost a side note that their improvements pushed them ahead of the competition. And if you recall they used that exact term, not Intel's name. It's only if you then look really closely that you see under the charts in small text actual model names. Intel on the other hand, as you rightly say, was "AMD this" and "AMD that" and did more advertising for their competitor than AMD themselves. It's all about professionalism as you say, and AMD did it right.

I'm expecting similar in the Big Navi reveal. Show their own numbers, show their performance uplift against RDNA 1 and the side-by-side charts will only reference the "competition" in that specific phrase.

It's a shame AMD are using the studio format for Big Navi, if Big Navi really does get in Ampere's face, I'd love to see Dr. Su in her own kitchen with even more spatulas than Uncle Jensen. Maybe even open up replacing her spatula collection by throwing the green ones out and replacing with bigger red ones.

but yeah, AMD under her leadership are far too professional to take digs and potshots. Herkleman should've been slapped last year if the "jebaiting" things was legit.
[/QUOTE]

Thing is Intel stagger from 1 desperate decision to the next, they hired that absolute bell end knobber Shrout for gods sake. If anyone can find the most obscure angle to make Intel look awesome and AMD look terrible, hes your man. The guys an absolute joke. Id argue hes done more bad for their credibility than good as well.

The sooner Intel through their hand in the better for everyone, once again just my thoughts and not saying I'm right or wrong.

Yup.. I am secretly hoping that Intel's HPG wipes the smug smile from leather jacket's face and wipes the floor with lisa su.. there's also been news of Imagination joining the bandwagon via RGT Paul, things are sure looking good for pc gaming

Its getting difficult to make an arguments for PC gaiming against consoles these days, for a start its getting very exensive being a PC gamer, that has always been a premium but everyone seems to be getting in on the elietist mindset of it, whats a good gaming focused Keyboard and how much does such a thing cost? A good cachisis with Cherry MX switches starts at £100. £100 for a decent Keyboard.

A Monopoly is terrible

A Duopoly is only marginally better if they decide to compete, innovate and collude on price fixing.

The more players the better for all, keeping each other honest, innovative and pushing forwards

Some people here are way too personally invested in AMD’s ‘success’. It’s quite sad really. It’s just a company, just like apple, samsung, nvidia, microsoft, sony etc...

And you’re like ‘yes yes please beep on me i promise ill like it and even pay you !’

what the ever living quack. I mean wtf is this i dont even ...
I'd like to see her pee on a 3090 on stage. That card could use a bit of liquid cooling with its 450W+ power draw. Might need to bring leather jacket man on stage as well so he can blow on the card while she pees over it.

This is my point, im looking at building a new PC for my youngest, as i built a 2600x b450 for him and his brother a year or so ago, but they both do a lot if homework online now, and eldest just started grammar school so spends a lot of time on it.

When i look at the costs now of a completely new PC for him im thinking i may just buy them a new Xbox Series X and a Chromebook as that will allow him to game and do his school work and still be cheaper than a full PC

Yup. This is pretty much it for me, although the PC is a more personal experience with the TV's where consoles are often connected, being there for everyone. So it is constant distraction as such.

They added KB and mouse support to the Xbox, and ive played Elder Scrolls online etc and its decent.

The main thing stopping me going fulltime console is i mainly play Mmorpgs and also the mouse and keyboard thing.

Thing is Series X onwards i forsee new MMORPGS going as console release anyhow, plus Microsoft acquired Bethesda, new Elder Scrolls games will be on Xbox, soon most games i like to play will be on console and that ends my reason for staying PC

Yup the FAB situation is also looking bad with TSMC taking a big lead.. just compounding the market structure further.. hope something big happens there as well

Some people are literally invested, when there is money on the line it's always personal. Remember different people have different expectations, some just want that share price to continue into the stratosphere so they can cash out happy. More power to them I say.

But that's what I'm disagreeing with, I think it'll be well received and won't provoke mass rage (though there's always someone unhappy...)

TBH I don't really care - Like the NV lot im buying at some point regardless. I mean jesus I bought a 7 on release and another just a few days ago... no point breaking the habit of a lifetime right? :P

Yep that’s how I feel and have for a little while now. Gamers can and will justify almost any pc component purchase these days despite increasing levels of poor value for money. It’s a mugs game and I’m becoming less and less interested in playing it.
