Agree, 4k is ready for regular PC gamers. Only those that spent a fortune on high fps 1080 will be dragging their heels on it.

My big issue with 4K for me is the poor state of monitor technology. It hardly seems to have improved in years, barely does HDR, with issues. Still using IPS or VA with their inherent problems and very expensive Vs TV's.

I'll move up when you can get something with OLED like visuals, no burn in, high refresh, HDR (1000nit+), 32"+ and £750 or less.

I think I'll be waiting a long time :(

I don't get to use this image very often:

Its a good meme, glad you got to use it :D

That's kind of my point. considering the productivity benefits of 4k I'm surprised the PC market hasn't moved up to 4k or at least 1440p on the low end. The adoption rate is too slow.

Lack of decent affordable 4k screens. I have had my 4k screen for almost 7 years now but it doesnt have gsync or AMD equivalent and only runs at 60hz. I have been waiting for a screen to upgrade to with HDR and 120hz min for the last 3 years. They are finally here but they cost £3000+.

Can buy two 48" oled and not worry about burn in for those prices.

Oh wait a minute... AMD's market cap is $95 Billion (Before Xilinx acquisition) and rising, Intel's market cap is $190 Billion and falling, AMD long term debt 370 Million, Intel long term debt 36 Billion, AMD debt is 3% of their value, Intel's debt is 18% of their value.

Why are AMD in trouble? A Games Console isn't miles off that at 180 Watts with an 8 core 16 thread CPU.

6800 non xt version.. is going to be something like 15% faster than 3070 at least... with 16GB vram instead of 8GB... for almost the same price.

Nvidia is lauching a 3070ti .. why ?? Because 6800 non xt walks over 3070!!

not only that but it is said that 6700xt has almost 2080ti performance ( very close)( litle bit more performance than Xbox) .. 175w Card... and it´s a 400$ card

Interested to see how people take the AMD news tomorrow, personally its all about performance / price or me, couldn't care less if AMD aren't quite as fast as a 3080, just if their offering is relatively "better" value.

Yep we are getting shafted in the PC space. I'm looking at buying a new primary monitor to move up from 1080p and the price of 4k for what I need (IPS display 144hz refresh rate ) is eye-watering. I'm going to have to settle for 1440p. Who knows maybe in 6 years time when I decide to do another upgrade it will be more affordable

Start slagging nvidia off, maybe some people will migrate over to help with the push to 1000?

1000... pff... page 171 here, why more people aren't on man sized pages baffles me.

In other news I just read the last couple of man sized pages and lost probably 100iq in the process.

Hahaha where is this all from?

A few mins ago we had the notion that the 6800 XT was slower than a 3080 after all.

Now the 6700XT is pasting a 2080 TI :p

Quite hard to keep up :p

The thread has run into turmoil and the closer we get to launch the more random rubbish appears to be coming out of people. At this point the run up was fun and all but it's time to stop the nonsence so this thread can go back to proper talk and flame wars.

Was meant to be the 19th of November.

I tried it a few times, baffles me why people use it :p

Pretty close then just not days. At this point they just need to get it out the door for Christmas. This will probably be one of those games like rdr2 for me a game I fancy playing but one that sits in the wanted queue for a while.

As for big pages the choice is clear, crank it up to 11 and rock the big boy pages!
