AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Yeah i got an infraction but that was it. Swearing is not a thing i would normally think twice about (happy home :P) but i guess there are rules inplace for the need of the many :) should have thought it through. But im touched by the warnings. Perhaps there are people out there that would miss me..? no?? arrgh come on!

rules are made to bend or break.

the 290 looks great and if the crossfire been enhanced and improved then its a hard to pass up on right....

i love rule bending, you know that grey area where you get to do what you want but nobody can tell you its wrong cause it aint.

Im saving up for that 290x, I dont care that the specs are not released yet i want one. But im not going to preorder it though. Hopefully if i save enough this month i can afford it when november arrives. Would be very happy with near Titan performance and if its better then AWWSOME!!

Radeon R9 290X Launch Date Revealed?

At a local press gathering in Turkey, AMD revealed the launch date of its next high-end product, the Radeon R9 290X. The press NDA over the card will end on October 15, 2013, at 12:01 AM EST (Berlin time). This NDA expiry time was disclosed in the slides that AMD showed the press. There's always the possibility that the NDA expiry date doesn't match market availability. It could merely mark NDA expiry for the press to post reviews of their AMD reference-design R9 290X (the only kind of R9 290X that will be initially available). AMD is handling R9 290X launch much in the same way NVIDIA handled the GTX TITAN, in that there won't be non-reference design cards in the foreseeable future, with the exception of cards with factory-fitted full-coverage water-blocks.

I saw the slides from this on another site early last night. Bit disappointed the NDA is 15th but i guess we'll have to suck it up and wait.

Gives me time now to get some overtime in on sundays now (double pay for the win) in readiness

The 7950 and 7870XT are merging. The 7950 will soon be RIP forever. :(

Basically the 7807XT Tahiti gets all the 7950 features (sp,tmu's, cu etc) but keeps its 2gb memory and 256bit wide bus and retails for cheaper than the 7870XT does now.

AMD's performance-segment Radeon R9 270X could prove to be a winning sub-$200 product for the company. Sources affiliated with a leading online retailer revealed that the SKU could greatly resemble the limited edition Radeon HD 7870 "Tahiti LE," possibly with higher clock speeds and stream processor count. "Tahiti LE" is a major variation of "Tahiti," which features not just lower numbers of stream processors and TMUs, but also a narrower 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. The die is mated with a more compact BGA package that has lower pin count, thanks to the narrower memory interface, and probably fewer power/ancillary connections. Sources reveal the R9 270X to be "a crippled HD 7950," which could indicate a stream processor count of 1792, higher than the 1536 of Radeon HD 7870 "Tahiti LE." The TMU count could be proportionately higher due to the way they're structured on the GPU; at 112, compared to 96 on "Tahiti LE." The clock speeds are still under the wraps. AMD set an SEP price of the Radeon R9 270X at $199.

The price to performance on this card looks cracking. Looking at about £125 give or take.

Makes me wonder what the r9 280pro/xt cards are going to be. The rumors suggest the xt is meant to be a 7970 ghz type card.

After closer inspection and thorough analysis by myself and my technicians. I believe his head is actually shaped like a light bulb, or even a pear turned upside down. See here for some examples of my findings.
