AMD Radeon R9 295X2 Owners Thread

Watch_dogs runs like poo on this card on max settings! big ol stuttery mess

14.7 drivers

Thats not the fault of the card or the drivers.
the game is a pos port or really heavily unoptimzed. i dont blame the card for this issue at all. and nether should you. though i can say for sure that the game has heavy memory issues/leaking ect.

Watch Dogs is an absolute mess, Ubi should be ashamed.

AC3 is terrible for me too. I get 20 percent GPU usage while its dipping to 15fps.

Yeah. TESO is like that.
TESO some areas it drops to 30fps, the card snores at 20% and the CPU just wants to run IBT because it has nothing to do. Rome 2 when starts snowing gets to 35fps, while CPU & GPU have nothing to do looking each other where the data are to process. (not in memory though because is empty also).

(FYI with a single GTX780 was like that also both games).

Is down to bad programming :(

If someone tries Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, BF4, then going to see what this card can do. (SC Arena Commander also runs really really nice on it).

I bought Crysis 3 last night, for the sake of it since I have this card, and I am all the time "ooh aah!".
Must tone down the difficulty because I find myself dead, while looking the environment.

Adjusted the settings to what seems to work best for me (55mV,35pl, 1018/ 1625) and am getting 113 on Ungine Valley which seems respectable.

After running the benchmark a few times, it does creep upto 72c. Is this to be expected for my h440 air cooled system? (295x2 Rad acting as intake).

While I'm not glad to hear it, it at least reassures me somewhat that Nvidia cards have issues with the games too. I was so close to jumping ship.

I've tried Crysis 2 and Tomb Raider though. At 4K they look incredible and scale superbly.

I hope the Witcher 3 is playable at 4k.

Tip is your H440 open or have the front off? Unfortunately it seems to be a bad case for this card. Mine gets too hot with the front on.

@Drojman yeah. GTX780 was the same on TESO and Rome 2. However on Rome 2 big battles, it was a slideshow. Not with the 295X2 :D

In addition it was the hair dryer fan on most games that used the 780, that got me most annoyed.

Btw if someone who experience issues has dust filter on the rad intake, try to see how it is without it

There's no check box. You can only choose to force crossfire in games that dknt support it.

If you want to use one GPU, add the games exe to CCC and choose the crossfire profile as disabled.

Give the cpu heatsink a good clean, and i'd start looking at a cheap aftermarket cooler for it, you do IMO need to get a o/c on it to get the best from your new gpu

Yeah I'm planning a CPU upgrade which is why I haven't done anything to it.

Just launched Skyrim lol:

Weird colours and crashed within 5 seconds. Like I said earlier, no in-game settings were changed since switching out the 780ti.
