What resolution and quality are you at?
I think on maximum quality SoM uses an obscene amount of VRAM. Possibly more than 4GB.
Everything max 2560x1440

I dont get stuttering but I get random frame rate drops in SoM. I also get rainbow lightning flashes. I'm sure it will get fixed in future and thankfully I am mostly done playing it for now. I'm not sure if it's game issues or AMD drivers but SoM is an "NVIDIA" game it seems too. Which can't help. I notice when a game has an NVIDIA splash screen it means I'm about to get ****ed. ironically AMD games worked perfectly well on NVIDIA cards.
I'm not saying its suspicious but.... Y u do dis NVIDIA?
Which drivers are you using Rob? We added a profile for SOM in the 14.9.2 drivers so using those drivers may help with the rainbow lightning flashes if you're using a newer or older version. Those frame drops sounds like you're running out of vram which is possible in this game as it's very vram hungry.
What PSU? And how are temps?Guys I'm hoping someone can help.
I have just upgraded my GTX580 SLI combo to a Gigabyte 295X2 and can't seem to get anywhere near the performance I should expect.
I have a i7-2600K @ 3.4 on a Z77 Sabretooth mb and 16 gb ram., psu is 850W.
Have the latest beta drivers and I know that crossfire is working as I've enabled the logo that shows in the top right hand corner.
I have a 1440p monitor and get the following results:
Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor:
Average 21.42, Max 313.79, min 2.25
Dragon Age Inquisition average is 30.1
Both on ultra.
Can anyone shed light?
I completely uninstalled the Nvidia drivers before installing the 295x2.
I'm pulling my hair out, figuratively speaking
Loving my 295x-2, it has solved almost all my crossfire woes.
Quick question, what kind of temps are these rated to run up to? Do AMD rate them safe for up to 95degrees like the rest of the 290 range?
So far I'm not breaking 70degrees, but curious how much headroom I've got with that
75C is the max temp iirc.
Oh ok, thanks. Won't be looking at any overclocking then!

You could try undervolting a bit, I found it helped a lot with my 7990. Took about 8C off it.
Thing is both the games seem to run reasonably well but clearly something is amiss
just played Farcry 4 for 30 mins, plays okay really but noticed temps of the GPU not getting over 40 deg, seems as if it's almost not really kicking in.
What clocks are they running at?
