I don't get the over the top criticism personally. They are not forcing people to use it. Portal RTX was free and I got quite a few hours of free fun out of it. Thanks Jensen. And no, you still can't have my money you leather jacket wearing snake

Plenty of games are showing huge CPU overhead even on RTX cards, nothing to do with GPU.

Ah yes, about the same percentage of people that were playing Far Cry 6 at 4K with the optional HD texture pack

Besides I could not care less who played it or did not. I did and I had fun and it cost me nothing at all. Soon we will get a bunch more games updated which I will be able to play, not sure if your GPU will be up to the task though

Don't worry the consoles can RT Witcher 3 with 60 FPS just fine but your 4090 barely gets 60 FPS in the demanding areas.

It might not be the full lot as on PC but the GPU in the PS5 is below an RX 5700 XT ffs.

us pc plebs generally arent happy at 60 fps anyway, i was back in the past till i loved on to 165hz monitor now anything less than 90 and im twitching

Lucky I don't suffer from this. I go from playing Forza at 144fps, to God of War at 90fps to playing Portal RTX at 50-65fps without any issues what so ever

RTX is causing the problems for me. On my 3070, running straight "ultra" with vsync on, I'm getting consistent 60+ framerates, no stuttering or tearing or anything. But the second I turn on RTX, even the most basic, I either crash, or I'm under 25fps.
Still looks gorgeous in Ultra, and it didn't cost me a dime, so I'm not complaining. But it does appear something's up with the RTX implementation. I do note that there was a recent driver update that might not have been factored into this release.
I'm content.

I have a 4090 and it feels too rough to play. There’s something completely messed up with it.
