You're kidding with this hokum, right? You must be, good joke.I’ve seen that. It’s vastly irrelevant. No mention of clear settings, no mention of what kind of FSR is being used, ‘up to’ garbage etc. No actual FPS numbers. Is it max fps? Is it average FPS?
No need to defend them. Benchmarks will be out and this will be old news. The cards are garbage compared to 4090. Most likely a good option vs 4080 but that’s more relating to the fact that the 4080 is garbage itself. Might force Nvidia to lower the price on those i guess?
4090 gets 2.65 better RT perf compared to a 6950xt
7900xtx up to 1.5x-1.7x compared to a 6950xt
G A R B A G E
Raster will be close but still lower.
Ps: spending 1000+ euros/dollars/pounds to get lower quality settings lel ( for those pretending they dont care about RT)
These cards slot in exactly where they were expected to be in the price/performance hierarchy that has been set. $900 for a card that likely equals nV's closest counterpart model i.e. 4080 with reduced RT capabilities. I loath stating this extraordinarily obvious statement: a $900 card should in no way be expected to compete with a $1500 card. Historically, we're back to the 3870 vs GTX 8800 (and 8800 GT) dynamic, albeit without mgpu.
Moreover, the 7900 xt/xtx gives me precisely what I was looking for (as stated in past posts): >50% uplift over 3090 with improved RT performance in the $800-900 range. It's exactly what I, and many others, are looking for. And for many, many people, a >£900 card remains irrelevant apart from it being a trophy holder.
Edit: I failed to add to the equation how much it sounds like RDNA 3 is going to beat Lovelace in power/performance.
