AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Where did you see it's slower? Looks 60% faster to me

Here is the score about 60% higher then. 6900xt

Yeh you're right I made the mistake of reading the article then not fact checking.

Good ol WCCF journalism should have expected it.

I did try to find se 6950xt Open CL benchmarks to see if they missed some stuff up but couldn't find any.

Not going to lie it's a little slower than I expected if they are the final results. I would have expected it to be around the 190k to 200k in that Vulcan benchmark. 10-15% slower than the 4090.

Well only a week until reviews.

man i hate when things are 20% slower for £800 less

I didn't sayi hated it!

It was more expectations based on AMD claims on performance uplift over previous generations.

From the "leaks" if they are accurate I'm now thinking there could be a big range in difference. Nvidia titles the 7900xtx to be 10% faster than the 4080 and in AMD titles to be around 10% slower than the 4090.

That's my current expectations. If Nvidia decide to price cut the 4080 it could make things a little spicy.

That score for the 4090 seems a bit low , stock i am getting 243801 or OC 292639 in the Vulkan test

The difference could be due to difference in cpu used.
I would expect the AMD card to be faster than this result anyway since drivers will be improving over time as always. It's a new chiplet architecture so I doubt AMD got drivers optimized so quickly.

That's a huge difference, hopefully someone else can confirm
both scores seem off compared to what i get on the FE , stock even improved a bit more to 25k so 100% seems a bit on the low side . if you were interested this is what i got with a FE at stock and oc with Vulkan and Open Gl :) CPU on mine is i9-10900K so old by todays standards .

Nvidia obviously thinks we are and they're not the ones needing some marketshare.

Whether AMD sold directly to the UK market or not, I'm willing to bet it wouldn't make a jot of difference to the number cards that would available on launch day for UK customers.

Brexit simply meant it was easier and cheaper for AMD to let their AIB partners do all the heavy lifting of importing them into the UK under the 'MBA' brand. Whatever allocation AMD would have held back for direct sales will now have gone to the likes of Sapphire & Powercolor.

I get the feeling we're going to see "AMD" and "Stock issues" in the same sentence quite a lot in the upcoming months. Quite pleased i'm not in the market for either of the two new releases. It's a real shame for those that are though, and for the GPU market in general.
