Do you need the water cooling or is it just something you’re into? Will be upgrading in the summer so would be keen to know. Thankswell just ordered a ekwb 7900xtx full cover waterblock, just need to snag a MBA card at 2pm and i'll be a pig in **** over xmas

A bit mean to your kids. they will be thoroughly disappointed not getting a 4080 and will get mocked at school
i run a full custom loop anyway, much better temps in the winter and summer months, the new card will be a fine pairing with my 7950x cpu
I have since upgraded my pc, don't worry! Yeah, I've been looking (https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/how-to-connect-to-a-120-hz-display.3268285/#post-20043088) and I'd have to faff around with buying an active adaptor of some kind which are £50-100+. I think I'm due a slight resolution upgrade at this point

Many moons ago some of us here managed to find a HDMI to Dual-link DVI Cable that costed only around £4 off the rainforest that would work 120Hz for the Samsung S23A700.I have since upgraded my pc, don't worry! Though not sure if or which or any of those cables that are now sold on rainforest can support 120Hz Samsung S23A700.

If that was the case, he would under-report the quantity to drive people to order (especially those thinking about it). A lot of people were caught out thinking they would have time to mull it over and missed out.

So some twitter expert has suggested that there are some problems with the RDNA 3 chips which results in them only being able to deliver 5/6ths of their potential performance. I won't pretend I fully understand the problem but potentially it means there's quite bit of untapped potential left in the tank for those who are buying the XTX model. That probably won't fully solve the Ray Tracing gap due to the chips lack of RT cores but could substantially narrow the performance delta on the RTX 4090.

The 6xxx series had big improvements as drivers matured I expect no difference this time round.
That's normal. It's part of the keying, to ensure only the correct connector can be plugged in, the correct way around.

After learning I'll be receiving a very decent bonus from work I was all set to jump on one of these but I'm holding off as the results are just a bit too inconsistent for the price. I'm happy to wait and see whether drivers improve things, or the price drops in the coming months.

I am very tempted by a 7900XTX, but I'm getting very impatient (as I need a whole new PC and want to get it done). Would prefer a 3rd party cooler though, wasn't impressed by the reference ones based on the reviews. Not sure if I can wait for the 3rd party 7900XTXs to come in stock, might have to bite the bullet and get a 4090...
