Today I decided to pre order threadripper 1950x, gigabyte mobo and 32gb memory. Sadly not from ocuk as work are paying. This will be my new vmware home lab and I'm epically excited!

So is x399 getting support for CPU's of future ZEN releases up to ZEN 3 like AM4?
DDR5 won't be here until 2020 - 2021+ anyway, by the looks of it.As all of them use the same Zen core's i would have thought the answer would be yes. In fact AMD indicated that the only real reason for any change will be DDR5.

I cannot bring myself to pre-order and want to wait a few months. AMD stuff always seem to reduce in price not long after release. Although that may not be the case this time,a CPU is not high up on list of priorities so will be waiting it out.Snap, except I pre-ordered yesterday.
Anyone know if a mini ITX build will be possible with these?
What would be the point of one of these in a mini ITX?
But we are starting to see some pretty good ryzen itx boards. So an 8 core is a realistic mini pc option for the first time.
That's true, 1700 was cheaper £30 like 2 weeks after release...I was quite annoyed.I cannot bring myself to pre-order and want to wait a few months. Quite impressed by what seeing so far apart from the dropping of them easily by some testers
