On the reddit posted before, someone put a comparison to the 6950X at same clocks.
If the 6950X has 16 cores, it could have hit around ~55000 while the 1950X hits ~58400

Not on SkylakeX heat and power draw.
Interesting, when I all core OC my 1700 it shows the real OC speed in CB, not the original stock speed, if I run CB at different OC I get different lines in CB for each core clock.
Strange, it doesn't do that with my 5820k. It always reports the base speed.

Yep. Just double check, both the laptop and the desktop post base speed on C15

Interesting the old blob method still seems to work best - I actually thought going back to hand spreading would be optimal with the size of it but seems letting the weight optimally spread outwards still gives best results.

I just nipped in here for a wee browse... and then I see those CB15 scores. 
Is that voltage OK for everyday use though? It'd also be interesting to see temperatures. I bet Threadripper 16c/32t will actually beat X299 18c/36t at stock because the Intel chips have much lower base clocks due to high power usage and heat output. The X299 chips will likely be faster when overclocked under extreme cooling but that's not very useful for most people.
