It's not like you CAN'T game on it though - it's probably 4790k/6700k level - hardly a slouch gaming wise

Is there much truth around a non X 1920X chip coming? Seen a few comments on videos and forums mentioning it with a $250 price difference to fill the gap between the 1900x and 1920x.
There is a 1920 coming but price is anyone's guess.
I reckon:-
1950x = 1000
1950 = 900
1920x = 800
1920 = 700
1900x = 549
