It is similar in video encoding unless you are maxing out all threads 100% of the encode that disablling HT/SMT will give you higher overall frame rates.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey regresses in performance when SMT is off according Gamers Nexus, so it's game dependent.
That game has so many frame drops though, I play it frequently and FPS go from 45-130 at 1440p
I know, it's terribly optimised but at least it scales with SMT.
utterly bonkers pricing, though seems to be quite a wait for delivery. bought 16GB anyway, don't need it as I've already got 16GB 4366 G-Skill Trident stuff that I can down clock and tighten timings on. but at less than 60 quid it can sit in a drawer!
