AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

I feel like a noob again with this new stuff and I kinda like it, got that hungry learning feeling.

Is 55000 ish ram read speeds about right, i get 65ns latency, but it changes everytime I run the test, sometimes 70, next 68 then 65.

Also @Zeed when changing the llc last night, every single core suddenly decided they would do 4.4ghz, the 3 that were at 3.8 decided to join in the fun, it gave me a cpu z multi score of 9000 and a cinebench score of 7655!! But the temps peaked at 91.c so I thought best to go down to 4.35. But it's weird that those 3 cores suddenly came to life
Yeah its fine.

ahhh the lovely boost and how this all works. You must have changed all core in Bios ye ?? Thats why its all runnin 4.4 and temps went up ect :D

91c for 1.35 volt on yours cooling seems high if not running Intel burn test but CB20 only but could be readout error.

Update so far pc was on 37 hours no reboot stable doing stuff different than benchmarking like playing this :

Yes indeed, I set 4.4 in the bios you are right.
I need to flip my cpu block like you said before, as its running hot despite have 2 radiators and only the cpu on the loop.

Everything seems to be running good, I would like to tighten the sub timings or maybe try and push 3800 cl 16 if possible.
I managed 4.5 all core at 1.38v but the temps were far far far too high. I need to look at my cooling but my chip could handle it it seems.
Won't be running it at that.

Thanks for your guidance mr zeed

Not sure about Zen2 but with zen1 and zen+ getting higher speed on memory was cutting maximum stable cpu speed so it was all about balance. I went strait for 3733 then 3800 so I have not tested what stable clock i could get with 3600. If someone is not bothered as much for stability and does not run BDSM cpu tests 4.4 all core for gaming only wil work. But I'w not gotten my pc only for gaming so :P

Nice. What Bios are You on and did You have had any problems ??

Haven't changed BIOS from F4 it shipped with yet. Bit scared to now I have everything running nicely, though I do have to do something with my RAM settings.

Just been sim racing in VR with big grid of cars, increasing settings, testing, increasing settings again and it just demolishes it! 74 degrees is max temp now...

Loving the chip so far.

AMD release first then fix and optimise later. It's what they do.
One of the downsides of innovation. It's fairly easy to avoid teething issues when your platform and architecture barely change over a decade. People tend to forget all the initial issues with X99 for some reason...

Probably the most comprehensive guide to DDR4 overclocking I have find yet!
Yeah the recommendations in there to lower procODT got me into Windows for the first time at 3333 MT/s. Still not stable though. Lower procODT might help stabilise my 3266 MT/s profile though, which currently crashes in games. It's a good guide.

I've gone a little mad. Was meant to be a budget build with a 3600, as an upgrade from my old 4690K, but have instead gone for the 3700X and an X570 Gaming X. It all arrived today, so the build shall start as soon as I'm home. :D

Don't expect much, if any, of an overclock. This is my first ever AMD build though. Certainly couldn't resist seeing the benchmarks compared to Intel.

Due to weather, I'm also currently looking into buying a motherboard and CPU bundle to keep me amused. Have fun!
