AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Actually most people that stream have a streaming PC and a gaming PC, which is less practical, costs more, and takes up more space.
I would say most people that got popular do this. I have a lot of friends that have high end PC's and use that PC. Likely only people that stream and actually have followers do it. I am amazed that people even bother tbh.

Can't personally see a problem with that streaming test. AMD are there to present their product compared to the competition. It was more of a 'look at the difference between the two' over anything else. It's not saying the 9900k cannot stream - everyone should know by now that it can.

Steve can say it is misleading all he wants, but then what about Intel's security flaws, or buying out OEMs. It's hardly comparable in terms of underhanded tactics when you consider AMD were at an event to showcase their product.

It has been done already, too:

Z390 prices are looking terrible £500 for a motherboard, 8 months after release.

am i doing this right?
wait what ??

320quid and its a nice board. I had 2 Maximuses was very happy with my 2500k@5ghz for years And my mates 4770k build still running today.

I really dont see Extreme boards being worth extra cash. Would be last upgrade on my list. Rather drop extra 100 quid and get top of the top spec mem kit. That would give more bang for buck when overclocking than going from 330 to 500 quid motherboard.

Gysnc when properly configured will cap your refresh rate to your monitor.

For example, mine will not go above 100fps as my monitor is limited to 100Hz.

Yeah ... so the guy I was replying to is essentially shooting himself in the foot.

You do need high FPS in CS:GO. But if he's capping his frame rate with GSync, then he's ensuring he plays with a ton of input lag.

He was acting like it stopped tearing but kept high FPS.

Updated windows , seems to have improved according to cinebench at least. 10 points higher than my best single core score and 23points higher in multi threaded run. This with my 24/7 settings , hopefully can break 450 with some memory tweaks and 4155 respectivly. free perfromance is free performance :) look forward to getting hands on with Zen 2.

the streaming test was a good test which was aimed at streamers, hence the higher than normal streaming settings, thats what the 12 is really aimed at along with the 16, more for a single pc that does it all. steve at gamers nexus picking at it does seem odd as lisa stated what the settings where at, was it unfair to the 9900k sure, but at the SAME PRICE POINT (big hint thats their direct intel competition as end of the day its price not cores for most people) so if you're a streamer or thinking of building a streaming box it was a very good demo.

was the test a worse case for the 9900k sure, but that worse case test for intels supposed top gaming cpu at the same price as the 3900X was a cake walk for the amd one. really am baffled why steves pointing it out as amd wernt hiding the settings.

I reaĺy can't understand these forums sometimes, one day people are complaining that the gaming benchmarks weren't pushing the processors to the limit so were worthless results, the next day the same people are complaining the streaming test was unfair for pushing the processors too hard.

People are mostly tribal and feel the need to support their tribe. It's as old as our species and happens with every subject you can name. Marketing people know this, politicians know this, sports know this. Luckily some people can think outside of their natural instincts :)

Nobody knows (who's talking). But it's difficult to imagine that it'll mark a performance regression when Micron just upped their game.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing what the Samsung A-die performance will be like. Great to see Micron has also upped its game with their E-die.

Guess I'll hang in to my Samsung B-die sticks for a little longer.

The article is a bit hyperbolic.

The lowest priced X470 boards on Overclockers are £130 now.

They're saying the lowest X570 boards start at $150? What's the issue really, the difference this time is there are a lot more at the ultra high end when really there wasn't many X470 boards at all.
As long as they haven't done an nVidia and just upped every tier.

Indeed. I am in marketing and know this only too well. It's just god damn easy selling to humans. easy.
Branding is exactly that, just the basic art of appealing to someones tribal instinct. Hell just make it green and Nvididiots will buy it. Make it red and AMiDiots will buy it.
Pays my mortgage though!

First few random benchmarks from Reddit users indicate hefty performance improvements from the Windows scheduler update. Will be interesting to see how it affects results in controlled tests for both Ryzen 2 and Ryzen 3.

Lets all pray Taichi comes in at a reasonable price as i got a sneaky feeling its going to be the goto board for many people wanting to move to x570, getting decent VRM's and features and not remortgaging their house in the process lol.

Im going x570 Taichi for sure!
