AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Welcome!

I too am on a 4690K and going Zen2. It's been so trusty I think I will have to frame it though. So so many memories.

Thanks!

Yeah, the 4690k is a good chip and it will serve my wife well for another 3 years or more as she only needs it for university. Already bought a new PSU and keyboard on here to start the new build. Next month it will probably be a X470 MB (Taichi perhaps) and a 3900X. Month after I will pick up a nice GPU like a 2080 or something.

Personally i'd be looking at the Crucial Ballistix LT kits, ~75 for 16GB the 3000 C15 and ~85 for the 3200 C16, they both use Micron-E, XMP works out the box on Ryzen, and they overclock to 3600+ easy.
Well you say they overclock to "3600+ easy", in Buildzoid's video with this kit he couldn't get past 3466 IIRC.

Just dropped in the bios for x-470 strix-f ready to just bang in the new CPU ( ultimately bank balance decided the 3900x is my limit ) so at least no waiting till September I guess. Couldn't get ram stable past the 3000mhz it was rated for 24/7 stable , and now with the new bios revision I'm at 3333mhz with ease... Happy chappy for the moment , gives me good vibes for the new chips
