AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

In case anyone is interested the crucial BLS2K16G4D32AESE (32GB 2x16 3200 c16 and supposedly Micron E-Die) is on sale for £141.08
Any reports on how well these overclock, can they hit 3600 on decent timings? Kinda like the low profile red heat spreaders too.

Really want 32gb for running vm's but cost for 32gb b die is painful. Guess I will probably end up waiting for the reviews to see how much ram speed / timings effect performance.

People have been getting 3200 C16 E-die kits running at 3600C16 with relative ease (on Intel though if memory serves).

You've got that Ryzen dram calculator that 1usmus produced to help you as well, should you need it.

Since these micron e dies are half the price of Samsung b I think it maybe the way to go for a reasonably priced 32gb. Guessing even at 3200C16 shouldn't have too much of performance hit.

Question is 4x8gb or 2x16gb (dual rank)? What other brands are using micron e die?

What motherboard do you have? The safer bet would be 2x16GB personally. I think only the Crucial LT stuff is E-die atm.
 
I know right. Looking forward to spending a day watching a heap of reviews and reading. I am going to wait for August before I buy to see how things settle and see how people on here get on with them.

Does anyone know how much better the single threaded performance will be for higher spec Ryzen 3000 CPUs? Like 3700X? Will these CPUs beat the 9900k by a decent amount, or are the scores very similar?

I asked them on instant chat. The customer service agent said I should email them in a few days to see if the situation has changed.

Hope they don't'. How can you tell if the item is new or returned if in an open box?

Something is off with these 3900x score. I know in the past firestrike had problems with high core count. Did they fix it? 29.000 compared to 26000 (9900k) is not that big of a difference. Even a 16 core is struggling at 28.000

Maybe the windows 1903 update isn't applied.

No, they won't beat the 9900k "by a decent amount". Be similar, we hope.
 
I need to see how they compare to 9900k in game performance before i decide, will need to be a decent upgrade from my 5820k otherwise i may as well wait for something better.

The 9900k has a 400 Mhz more overclock than the 3900x in the comparison and it still beats it, the difference would be more if the 9900k was clocked lower.
