oh no got 600 gold for it!

I have kept two and shifted the welkyend stones instead!

Are these used for anything?

dont think so mate... definately keep one or two of the Varla ones though :)

think we must have raided the same place (lots of puzzles etc in the place, dark but with lots of weird stones lighting up the place?) as soon as i found 3, i sold them... then had a lovely loading screen saying "Did you know you can recharge magical items with rare Varla stones?"

luckily... Quicksave to the rescue! :)

I think the Welkyend stones are for charging up your Magika, I tried one and it said my Magika was full or something.

Is it possible to charge up your own magic weapons without using the Varla stones or getting a Mage to do it?
 
yep, if you have any soul gems (that have a soul in them) then you can use that on your magical weapons... depending on the level of the gem it has a different effect on the amount of charge.

to tell if a soul gem has something in them hover over it so it says something like

Greater Soul Gem: current soul level = petty

anybody care to tell me how to enchant a weapon with something?
i know how to poison weapons etc... just no idea how to enchant a weapon :-/

ahh ok, thanks... I thought the soul gem thing was a way to enchant them, I'd just never tried it. :)

I've found of 2 ways to enchant weapons so far, Sigil Stones (from oblivion gate levels) and at the Arcane University.

I don't know what colour to use for spoilers, all the colours I tried just made the text stand out more, lol.

How do you poison weapons? I have loads of poison but never used any.

from memory.... click on a poison in your inventory, then select the weapon of your choice.

i found it out simply by just seeing what drinking poison would do :o
wouldn't let me and instead prompted me to poison the weapon :)

cheers for the enchanting weapons bit, not done the oblivion gates yet (again i REALLY need to get around to doing the main quest :o) and i haven't got into the Arcane University... been too busy with other quests to even think about the Mages Guild ones!

As Trixxy said, those are used for charging your magica. I just found my first piece of master alchemy equipment :D Pity it wasn't a pestle and mortar :(

I have to say that poison and enchanted weapons with health damage rocks! Just defeated 3 mintotaur lords in the arena and didn't even use one pot of health (i usually have to use quite a few on quests). 14pt from blade + 40pt from enchantment + 21pt from poison = a lot of health with one strike :D. Now, if i could get my stealth up and get that 6x backstabbing bonus that would be 145pt health damage from one hit :eek:
 
I went back to a previous save so I now have the 3 varla stones and the 39 welkyend stones back.

I hadn't done much anyway after getting them just went to the market district for some gold. and a better weapon.

After selling one at the copious purse I looked at what he was selling and he he was selling the varla stone for 1600 gold.

I have a fire enchanted axe up to now so i'm gonna keep em and not let anyone get their hands on em lol :p

Might get rid of a few welkyend stones though 39 of em is plenty.lol
 
I need a helping hand with a side quest if anyone is willing:

In Chorrol, at the fort you get a quest to find the person who stole the painting, ive question people and found a clue or two but im stuck, the quest scroll tells me to look for clues but Ive been everywhere around the castle thingy and cant find anything

help please (if anyone has done it) because its narking me of a bit

First clue - Painting at bottom of west tower (down a hatch)
Second clue - Foot prints in the dinning room
Third clue - Hidden painting supplies in one of the suspects room (the women)


Anyone who is wondering the colour I used it is COLOR=#1C5780
 
so i started playing yesterday....and i'm not sure. It just seems so huge in scope, i don't know whether i'm really going to have time to learn how to do all the spells and quests etc. The lack of tooltips is a bit of a pain.

Graphics are nice, but the far away textures do look poo. I tried downloading that mod but it's apparently a bad zip
 
While about my honest/thief guild ways in Skingrad, I came upon a quest, and need some advice, read below :)

Spoilers:

I was in Skingrad, when the crazzy Elf called Glarthir ran up to me, and asked me to meet him beind the cathedral/chapel at midnight. After doing my thief guild quest I did so, and he wants me to follow various people who he believes are following him. After I was walking away, one of the guards/captains walked up to me and asked me why I had been asking people about Glarthir, I replied with "Just curious", and carried on. At this point, what is it worth doing? What happens in the quest, what are the rewards like etc., or shall I just tell the guards? Any advice is good!

If you spy on the people for glarthir he will give you gold for each person(I think it was 100-500) you report back about and a final reward of 1000 gold for his final task if you do it. If you tell the guards they will deal with him and you won't get any reward.

Ah ok, I did a little research via google, and saw a post by a guy who tried 3 different ways with the following outcomes. Number 1 looks the best to me! :p

Spolier:

1: I told one of the Surilie brothers about the note. One of them then
attacked him, Glarthir killed him in his own house, then on the street
Glarthir got attacked by the other brother, who then proceeded to kill
Glarthir and then got killed by the guards. In this case you get the keys
to both houses and a magic blade from Gasto Surilie's corpse.

2: I told Glarthir that I have changed my mind and won't do the killing. He
got angry, but then agreed that it is something he must take care of
himself. He then went to his house to get his axe, then killed the woman
and then got killed by the guard.

3: I told the guard about it after Glarthir said he'll
take care of it himself. The guard tried to arrest him, but was forced to
kill him.

This way will increase your fame by one: I said no to Glarthir, then followed him until he got his axe and broke
into the lady's house, attacking her. Then, and only then, I notified a
guard, who tried to arrest the guy but had to kill him. The
guards talked about how murder was only prevented because of me.
 
Ok need a bit of help.

All of a sudden for no apparent reason my game crashes when entering any loading screen apart from loading a save, so if i enter a cave...screen just goes black, i hear a small bit of ambient sound then I'll have to reboot.

No idea why this has started happening as I havent changed any settings or installed anything new. :confused:
Thought i'd try and uninstall and reinstall but I just get an error message when trying to uninstall so I can't even remove it >_<
