These people you have to kill for the DB would you still get infamy if you cast a non deadly spell on the person that you are to kill and then let a summoned monster kill them?

Doesn't work, as I kill many people this way. Nor does frenzy, but it's fun watching the chaos in towns.

Go out into the country and find some lone sole, no witnesses, no infamy - although make sure it's not a master trainer, as I did with my evil character!

(Spoilers? Not really, just asking about a quest

There's a quest I did as part of the Mage Guild Recommendations a while ago, it's for the guild in Bravil where you have to get Dragil(sp?)'s Amulet back as it's sent her loopy, well i've got the amulet and have gone back to the guild, been told to give it her immediately, but when I speak to her the option never comes up in the speech list and i've said everything I can to her (all text is grey).

Has anyone else had this problem? I've basically finished the quest, i've tried reloading my last save, I think it might just be a glitch, I want to sort it out though because if I don't finish the quest I won't get my recommendation and can't join the Mage's Guild

Have you spoken to the younger woman in the gray robe first ?

Speak to everyone in the guild then speak to her.

This is going to sound silly but have you scrolled down through all the conversation options? I'm sure someone in this thread got stuck for the same reason.

Where is the key for the first oblivion gate in kvatch? Its driving me mad, I have been everywhere, just fed up with it now.

Can't remember the details, but it involved progressively getting higher up in a tower tapping a Dremora on the bonce with a great big sword and then nicking an orb in the middle of a big swirling stream of red plasma/fire/whatever.

WHat do you mean key, mate? You mean to get into the gate, or what you do once you're in? To be honest the gate levels are very linear... it's pretty routine stuff once you're in.

a 'sigil key' is that? if so < although i thought the sigil key towers where a bit later than kvatch; have you found the the citadel room? as you go up the main tower (or if you enter the tower up high from a ramp between towers, you may need to head down) keep checking the map and one level will have a door leading to it. a bad dood in there i expect will have it. >.

Yes. That's a near identical spec to mine except mine is single core, and mine plays fine on full settings and 1152x864 with x2 FSAA.

I was wondering if you can hunt down and kill Lucian Lachance from the Dark Brotherhood quest without joining the dark brotherhood. I missed my chance to kill him when he first appeared to offer me the chance to join but he never seems to be at his hideout in Fort Farragut East of Chorrol. I did the Dark Brotherhood side quests on another save file and am currently playing as a goody-goody hero type and want to kill him and any other assassins out there. The official guide doesn't mention this. Similarly can i kill the members of the cell that live beneath the abandoned house in Chorrol?

AFAIK you can only kill LLeC after the first encounter if you are a member of DB, because yyou have to join before he is put back in the game (I've visited his home and he's not there).

The abandoned house is in Cheydenhal, not Chorrol, and you won't be able to kill the occupants as a non-member because a) I don't think you can get in, and b) three of them are tagged at this point as essential. You'd need to get most of the way through the DB quests and then repent before your killing spree.

I'm now at level 15 and getting loads of bears in the woods which I find tough, a will-o-the-wisp kicked my butt too :eek:

btw, has anyone else got the offical game guide by Prima ? its wicked but I dont wanna read too much else I might spoil it.

Hi guys, I keep getting this problem when playing oblivion, when I say go inside a building them come back outside - the framerate is far slower asif theres a frame limiter on, anyone else get this? to fix this I have to goto the menu then load the game again.
