An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

So, Is it as good as u all expected? seem to see a few threads that say a few probs so what u think?
It's certainly a good game, no doubt about that, but if you've played Morrowind, you may feel a bit cheated.

If you haven't then you'll probably love it.

Yep. It actually outdid my expectations as I don't tend to get very hyped over games anymore. Imagine Morrowind but better and greener and you won't be far off.

My only real gripe is the constant crashing. If Bethesda don't announce a patch soon, I might advise you to hold off buying it until they release one. There are also a few niggles with the levelling system but that's nothing that can't be adjusted by mods and patches and it's not really affecting my enjoyment. :)

Sorry to post this but I have tried looking through the Thread but it's to big,

What is the command to show FPS?

Thanks guys and sorry to have to post this, just a massive thread to look though.
press ` (left of 1) to bring up the console
enter "tdt" (without the quotes) and press enter :)

it should appear in the top right corner of the screen

Thanks Nikebee, help is much appriciated.

Well at the VERY start of the game, loving it so far.

Never had an amazing PC so playing in lowest resolution and mediumish settings.

LOVE IT! I think it still looks good in low settings.

Will post what I think when I get further in the game.

Thanks Luke

Anyone know the primary skill for pickpocketing? Is it just stealth?

My stealth is 50, but I'm trying to pick-pocket someone for a quest and I fail every time :(

Success depends on the NPC's skill, line of vision, value and weight of item.
Plus there's ALWAYS a chance you will get caught no matter how skilled you are.

(forgot to answer your question, yes it's sneak/agi.)

agility is the skill that effects pick pocketing... there is no stealth skill though... d'you mean sneak (pretty much the same thing i guess).

agility also effects your ability to pick locks and the damage you do (and take) from bow & arrow weapons.

gah just got a horrible lock up after fast travelling from Bravil to Bruma (wanted to go sell some stuff with the theives guild, only just started with them...)

i couldn't do anything, music still played but couldn't move at all.

alt+tab, ctrl+alt+del, alt+enter etc...etc... nothing worked... :(

had to power off my machine... after watching the bonus DVD and them talking about Oblivion crashing drastically and forcing the user to turn off their machine... resulting in them blowing a motherboard... i found myself sitting in my chair going

"Please dark lord Sithis... let my PC turn on and i will slay you another soul and return the debt in blood..."

i think i need a break from this game... but its so damn good :o

I quit in anger earlier.

*Possible Spoiler*

I was doing a Dark Brotherhood mission where i have to swap that guys medicine for the poison, i get there, and i cant find the poison, how the hell do i put it in the cupboard when i cant find it. i definately had it given to me

it's actually called (name here)'s Posion... not sure if its under your alchemy tab or your items tab

go back into the game, it's called Roderick's Poison... if its DEFINATELY not in your inventory then do this (its not really cheating since you've somehow *lost* a quest item  )

open up the console by pressing ` (key left of 1)
then type in
player.additem 00030FD6 1
it's important you don't miss the 1 as it is the number of items to add to your inventory... you'll now definately have Roderick's Poison in your inventory.

oh sweet nice one, thanks, ill go try it now.

its definately not there. I even tried putting every single one of my items in there, including clothes just in case. But nothing happened.

Cheers mate
