An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Got 2 questions though:
1. How do you bring up the map, and fast travel (although won't fast travel as enjoying the walk)
2. I thought bows + sneak gave a x2 multiplier, not 3 as I'm getting. And do you get headshot bonuses?

don't think anybody has answered these yet.

1.
press tab to bring up the inventory, click on the compass direction and that will bring up your quests menu. Second logo on the menu (looks like a star) will bring up the quick travel map. you can click and drag to view more of the map.
first logo on the menu will show a detailed map of a town/city don't think you can fast travel with it though.

2.
the multiplier bonuses depend upon what level you are (I'm getting 4x multi). And no there is no head shot bonus. It's not an FPS! :p

To get into the fast travel page you can also press F4 to bring up the quests & maps page then click on 2nd logo.
F1 = Character & Stats
F2 = Inventory
F3 = Spells
F4 = Maps & Quests.

Anyone know why Hieronymous Lex doesn't think I'm reputable enough to believe me when I tell him that bust is in wotsit's house by the waterfront? I want to complete this quest :(

so I've now come to the conclusion that being a thief is useless if you want to complete the main quest as I just can't kill anything without taking a severe battering. I've had numerous fights with numerous creatures, using block, but they all seem so much stronger. I've had to resort to getting the dungeon goblins to chase me out and relying on a patrolling guard to do the work for me :p. I can, however, break into people houses and steal their goodies.

Before I restart and create a combat character, can I rapidly increase my comabt skill by joining the fighters guild or fighting in the arena?

My Kajiit thief is ridiculously good at fighting, since I just jump backwards and fire ranged magic at them until they die :cool:

You have to bribe him lots.

Great stuff.

Thanks Sweetloaf, Nikebee and Baggy.

Haven't encountered any probs fighting with my Wood Elf custom thief - may have to retreat firing arrows, but as the enemies always follow you to their death, it works well. Haven't died.....yet.

Not particularly easy when in caves and dungeons though.

I'm going to have a go at blade fighting to up my stats and not use sneak for a while to see if that makes a difference, otherwise I'll give up and create a standard warrior character.

Try that in a confined dungeon :p

Up close and personal with giant swords eff-tee-dubble-yoo, tbh.

thats exactly my boat, im heading off to the arena as I hate retreating all the time with arrows. I wish that the arrows did more damage as well, say 5 hits for a tough enemy, but sometimes it can take 20!

Hey, I just got the fourth volume of the book that I won't talk about in case of spoiling the story, and I jumped all the way through the dungeon with about 6 goblins chasing me, then made it into the city without a scratch and without swinging my sword once :cool:

Is it working even if my disposition-wotsit still stays at 0? Seems weird.
I don't think he likes you :o

Pffft! Real men stand and fight!

About those books... are you supposed to work it out for yourself, or does that Argonian tell you?

I realised my char sucked a bit as I didnt take time to customise at the beginning and so made a class of my own last night:

MAGEBLADE

Birth Sign - Mage

Major Skills

Blade
Block
Alteration
Conjuration
Destruction
Restoration
Light Armour

Shaping up very nicely so far, should be a good mix of might and magic. :)

Can't wait for the X1900XT to get here tommorrow. :D

I usually use 1 myself, I'm used to the realtime day-night cycle from OFP. I also like being able to just ride around the countryside exploring without the whether changing drastically, or it suddenly becoming night time :)

just installed a leveling mod called kobus leveling mod or something. made the game far more playable, it removes the levelup screen and does some...stuff to calculate your bonuses, works great for me since i was a victim of the 'i reached level 15 just because i sneeked so much' club :o now my char is fixed and i can actually kill stuff :) on the final arena fight currently, very difficult i cant even do it with summons :eek:

That the one where your attribute increases give you levels, rather than vice versa?

Just downloaded this, along with about 35 other mods, about to give them a go :cool:

You mean against the grey prince? theres an easy way of defeating him.

Anyone found a good way of killing dread zombies, as i need to go past quite a few of them to do a quest and as mentioned above they are xtremely hard, i used summon skele and with one hit from the zombie it flew apart.

the skeleton summon is the worst one i think, try buying a better one maybe that will help :cool:

edit: no not that one, i have to kill 3 at once. i think its the 2nd from last then?
