Anyone flashed there Vario II to wm 6?

What version are you on at the moment Guru? I'm running Black Majick on mine, it's ace. Shame Satin is gonna be JJ's last rom I've liked his stuff. Dunno if I'll upgrade to it yet it seems to be missing loads of stuff that you have to go out and find yourself which I can't be bothered to do. Majick is working well enough.

I've put a couple of the Kaiser addons on the today page too. Looks wicked now. Got the 5 tabbed version with Photo contacts and a profile changer (finally).
 
i flashed my phone with a htc rom months ago then recently the phone was dropped from about 2'(fell out of bag) now it doesnt ring any more and i cant take it back as its a non t mobile rom and i cant flash it back either!

I'm on Black Dymond at the moment mate, one before Majick. Been running perfectly for me so haven't had the urge to upgrade again.

I was reading how there was a few things missing from Satin so I might give that a miss and try one of the other cooked ROMs.

Gavin: Ouch! I suppose that's the risk you take when you flash the firmware of the handset. Unlucky mate.:(
 
Would someone beable to email or msn me black majik or dymond as its no longer avaliable from the site and Satin (the newest) isn't avaliable for download yet. Email in trust, greatly appreciated.

@ Gavin - why can't you flash it back? I'm sure I saw a default t-mobile rom on XDA, you can't reflash that?

Actually, is there any chance you could email me (in trust sig) the relevant cab files for that? Does it slow down the phone in anyway?
 
Wouldn't bother with the offical WM6.

Download and flash with Black Majik ROM. Go here to then download a HTC utility which will automatically install the T-Mobile MMS and Data connection settings. It also supports all of the UK networks.

The hk eng is the one you want, there isnt an eu yet. However, this was the one i used and after doing a little reading on the xda forum discovered this problem is widespread. Since then though it has been repackaged to work ok, thats on the forum somewhere.

Im gonna give majik a quick go because it looks sexier than the windows defaults. Hell, i quite like the tmobile theme, anyway to download that!?

What problem is widespread?
And what does Black Majik offer me over the standard one?

Whens the Euro one out?

Are you still running with the default firmware?

Hold down the OK button on the left side and the power button button and then soft reset with the stylus.

That will tell you the bootloader version.
 
I have a 10 month old Vario II that i flashed to the HTC 2.11 ROM yesterday...just noticed this thread and the "Black Majik" alternative. Will i need to add the radio stuff etc? Or is it as easy to install and start using as the HTC 2.11 ROM that i did yesterday? Will i need to do anything settings wise afterward other than setting the GPRS/3G access point name and re-synching my contacts?

Oh, and is it WM6?

The Black Majik download posted above is just the cooked WM6 OS. It does not include the Radio ROM.

Tutorials on how to flash to the Black Majik and other cooked ROM's can be found here.

Only thing for you to do after is enter the MMS/Data settings (see my post above for an app to this), Re-sync and then install all of your applications.

I make a few other changes like ringtones, screen brightness etc.

Just follow the guides I posted and you should be fine.
