They said there were steps in place to try and reduce players who start solo or as a duo with others in a similar situation but I'd imagine that'll only take effect before the drop ship.

It's cool mate, Bronze ranked is the same as playing normal Apex, it's not until you go up the ranks you get matched with harder players.

Solo makes some legends very overpowered and others abilities pointless. What use is Lifeline's rez shield as a solo player? Wraiths portal ability then has limited use too. The game isn't designed for solo players and I hope they don't add it. Duo's I could see potentially though.

fair point. out of curiosity why wouldn't you want it added, i don't imagine it's likely to affect player numbers in squads much? much easier for someone like myself to get back into it if there's a solo mode rather than the nightmare that is solo squad queuing!
 
Im on most night once the mrs is watching love island and the kids are asleep I always forget about the OCUK discord though, happy to jump on for some games, dont normally have comms on due to kids asleep but I ping stuff atleast

I can see Solos being trialled as a limited time event sometime....but as mentioned, the classes make it difficult. I can see them doing it but with random selected classes or something, so you don't end up with too weird an imbalance. Who knows.

Solo queue is much better in Season 2, I'm pretty sure solo and teams are now in separate matchmaking queues. The standard of teams in solo queue is really low compared to matchmaking with a team. Like so bad I managed 11 kills the other day.....bad.
 
Yeah solo queuing is awful. I tend to almost only do it as only have one mate left who rarely plays this. Have had some rare good games with randoms who all used comms and we added in game saying lets play more together but they never accept invites :(.
Might have to check out this OCuk discord. As long as people don't mind norn irish accents haha.
 
I can see plenty of reason to play solo's, even if there's a class who's better, everyone will go that class and it'll balance itself out over time. I'd happily play some solo games, just like I do with pubg.
ocuk discord is a good place to jump on and play with regulars.
 
I've just picked this back up. Played a few rounds months ago but didn't really get my head into it. Played a few games last night and managed around 3-4 kills in each (rarity for me to even get 1 compared to previous efforts) so am hoping to get on and do some squad play with OCUK once the new monitor arrives.
 
The ranked mode is really good. The #1 reason I stopped playing Apex was because winning didn't feel satisfying which the ranked mode fixes. You'd run into every fight and try to get as many kills as possible and that was it. Watching plat and above on streams the game seems much more interesting than just zerging into fights all the time.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the new hero - walls absolutely everywhere in those high level games.

I like it - it stops it being just a straight out spam fest, brings additional tactics into the game.
Also, it only takes a couple of shots to take the beams down.
 
I've been away from the game for a while, but I'm hoping to be back on for a few games sometime this week. I'll jump onto Discord if I do!
