Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Dedicated to my beautiful lioness, who passed away at the hands of an unknown Spartan soldier in the conquest battle for Achaia.

i woulda had that thing murdered within seconds of seeing it and kassandra woulda been stomping about in new upgraded shoes or something.

You cannot disable them in AC without disabling all the other icons as well unless I am missing something.
Yeah you disable all or nothing. Tbh, I don't really see a need for most of them anyway. I haven't had them on all game.

I've got the restored Mycenaen armour now, which is probably my favorite so far. Looks good (except the helmet) and has great stats.

Be good if you could have two loadouts that you could switch between.

Decided I wanted to blitz the hunting questline, so dropped the difficulty down and just ploughed through them (found them annoying and frustrating rather than challenging)....had to schlep across huge parts of the map...really brought home the scale and detail...so many different areas.

Good thing there isn't another AC game this year cos there ain't a chance in hell I'll finish it...might not even get into the DLC :P

Haven't played the part that people have objected to, although I can totally understand why people might be disappointed that they put all the effort into giving the player agency over their sexual orientation throughout the game, then railroading you into this hetero relationship. It's like giving you a peaceful option throughout the game, then forcing you to murder a bunch of people. Talk about falling at the last hurdle!

i'm loving this and so far have recruited around 25 merc's and they then stay on the tiers for the bonuses at blacksmiths etc. i had so much armor etc i ended up just keeping the legendary and epic stuff. rest i sold or dismantled.

any tips for killing medusa, she's a right bitch!

i do like this part of the game, the action with the ladies. different. i also enjoy the choice part of responses and giving a different pathway. best AC ever.

i cloned my HDD and moved into a new pc and now half the sound has gone from the cut scenes. all other sound is there. i may need a reinstall.

Think I'll complete the Atlantis arc tonight. I can't have much left of the family story either. I have just

killed Kleon's mate in Athens and now I'm chasing him to the top of the map

I haven't been bored at any point so far.

struggling to get the last guy in the Eyes of Kosmos. It says he runs a mine, so i went to the mine and completed all the objectives but nothing comes up. Grrr.

Was gutted, came across a leopard the other day, spartan kicked it and as i was about to tame it I accidentally killed it swiping my sword. So far the Lynx is the best companion I've found so far. It can hold its own even in groups but will eventually die like all of the others. But When it's you vs 1 or 2. They're amazing.

A while since I killed her, but use the pillars for cover when she's doing her main attack and then rush out, couple of hits then back into cover. Can fire a few arrows off at her at distance as well.

Just bought this from Uplay with 20% off by using points. Why don't other companies do this? I can't remember the last time I bought something from Steam, it's always CDkeys as they are so much cheap. Steam could learn from this. Maybe use those useless Gems to get discounts or something.

If he is the guy I am thinking of, I actually found him at a quarry rather than a mine.

Was looking at this on the humble bundle store as its half price at the moment but I had a few questions.

I haven't played any of the assassins creed games in a while, do they still do the whole future bits in these games and is it worth while as a stand alone game for someone who hasn't been following the series.

Secondly is it worth paying extra for the versions with the extra items & dlc or is the base version good enough on its own.

I have always liked the ancient Greece setting (Titan Quest is one of my favourite games) and am mainly interested in exploring the world doing quests etc. So this looks like it could be fun

It's one of the most amazing games ever made I think, they have somewhat drifted away from the original concept for assassins creed, I always hated the modern day stuff as it ruined the immersion, thankfully it's become limited in the latest games, even more so in this one.

You do not need to have played any of the others in order to enjoy this game, your playing as a mercenary and change sides often and you can choose to play as either a male or female, an option that the earlier games did not offer.
I chose Kasandra so i could hear that sexy accent as she urges her horse along ;)

Completed the Family quest line. Ending was satisfying, but could have done with a bit more of a cutscene tbh.

I managed to save all family members and a cutscene plays where they are all having dinner...some of them haven't seen each other for years and have some stuff to work through. I would have liked to have seen some of that. It could have been more dramatic!

I thought the story was great. It used pretty much the whole map, got you exploring and didn't make the mistake most open world RPGs make of making the story feel too urgent. It felt totally natural to go off exploring between missions unlike some other games that make the next mission seem so important that it doesn't make sense that you wouldn't go straight there-
Jarl- "dragons are destroying the world and you need to go and see these guys in this location in order to stop them"
Dragonborn- "nah, I'll just mooch about this cave for a bit then maybe go wandering around the mountains. I might get to it next week....actually this guy does want me to collect some bear pelts too. "

The story in ACO never felt forced upon you.

While not game breaking but certainly immersion breaking, I discovered you can fire arrows at sharks while treading water. Also if on land/boat you can fire into the water at sharks many meters down as if they were on land. The water has no effect on the arrow.

lollers, if you enter the pankration with a pet (I had a bear), it stands at the edge of the circle and mauls your opponent whenever they get near :D

i have tried to shoot arrows into the water but it doesn't work. i need to reinstal as the sound is knackered. are the save game files still kept?
