Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Ah ok, so leveling makes no difference, hmmm...I really don't want to change to easy as it'll feel like i've cheated myself, guess i'll persist.

I just 'recruited' an Alpha animal ....I think it was a bear! and it does most of the work keeping the main enemy busy while you smack the **** out of the little ones. I was pretty much dead but beat it in the end

So second wind and a tamed alpha...know what i'm doing tonight :D

If I still can't beat it i'll just play Division 2 for a few days for a break.

Is this game better then origins ? Both are on sale Steam and can't decide between which one to get, I'm hoping for a good story single player game - both have got decent steam reviews.

I was bummed out about my Alpha Lion. Thought it would be a wrecking machine but it wasn't at all! Died really quickly. I still think the Lynx is the best animal companion.

I didn't get very far in Origins and packed up after a few hours as I found the setting and main character a tad boring. Went straight on to Odyssey which I then continued for 80 or so hours. ;)

then everything when wrong.... couldn’t even shut down pc... or start task manager...

But did enjoy the game tho ....

First dlc is OK. More of the same really. Some new targets to kill, some nice cinematics. A bit of variety in missions. No good side quests though and the area is one of the weakest.

Still playing at 125 hours!.. Tbh there isn't anything else I'm bothered with atm so they can release stuff forever as far as I'm concerned.

So, after whinging about my defeats at the hands of the Erymanthian Boar yesterday, I tweaked my build and went back and killed it in less than 15 seconds last night on the first try.

I reskilled with Second Wind up to level 3 and maxed the pyromancy skills, I then equipped the Agammennon armor set that has 100% burning rate bonus and engraved all my other bits with extra burn and crit damage. My heavy mace does fire damage as standard, I hit it with a few death arrows immediately, then went in with pyromancy activated and it just melted...did a single overpower attack as the killing blow.

That boar is the most infuriating thing in the game if you take it on too early!

Wierd that it is the first creature they send you to kill, as it is the hardest of the lot I found.

At level 57 and I haven't even got any fire abilities! I do use poison sometimes.

fire abilities are very good, in fact it's how I've killed nearly all the mercenaries via arrows and a flaming mallet . The big problem is that in close combat you can often end up catching yourself on fire, :p

Do you have fire arrows or better still the exploding fire arrows?

Personally I'd say it is, the inclusion of sea battles etc adds something extra. The fundamentals of both games, the combat etc are very similar, but for me Odyssey is the better game.

Both are well worth a look though.

I got them both haha - I'll get to them both eventually, darn lunar sales !!

There's something about the being in the ship on the sea that is really well done. When the sea gets rough and the ship is crashing from one wave to another it's brilliant.

Although it is realistically done, it terms of gameplay it's pretty annoying. I just want to get to my destination as quick as possible and when you are hitting the big waves, the ships slows down to a crawl.

Had that last night thinking this is still really well done but for gawd sake let me move faster!
