ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

God these monitors are HORRIFIC.

I have had four from OCUK and each time there has been something wrong.
I've had to wait nearly 4 weeks for stock to arrive inbetween orders and then to get something delivered that is faulty each time is terrible

My fourth monitor has a stuck pixel and a big yellow smudge under the screen which looks like someone has put their thumb there and just pressed down.

Also a very STRANGE thing that happened is that it came with a EURO plug, which leads me to believe that unless OCUK had the wrong shipment ASUS are just sending back returns.

The screens themselves are **** poor in terms of colour and picture quality.
All whites look washed out and yellowish and compaired to a del U25 they look garbage/

I really which that OCUK could check one before they send it out to me.
I think I will just have to ask for a refund rather than a replacement this time as I don't think asus deserve anybodies money. Might try the acer x34 or wait for the XB1.

Hey guys received mine today do you think this is suitable? I bumped the iso and exposure down to try match what my eyes see but its still a lot less noticeable than this.

Everything is subjective. Don't ask others is it ok for YOU as it's for YOU.

If you're happy with the way it looks and it doesn't have any dead pixels or horrible back light bleed then keep it.

If you don't like it for any reason then return it.

Seeing your experience and my experience, I think I may aswell wait for the predator XB1 XB271HU, exactly same specs. I think It will be well worth the wait. Fed up completely with Asus garbage now. I will happily use my old swift until then.

The new Acer monitors look surprisingly good, hopefully they will be. They seem far better, improved in every aspect to their previous ones.

I'm gonna try one more or potentially live with a slightly faulty one. Acer have a bad customer service track record and I complete disagree with the guy saying poor quality screens. Once I do a bit of calibration the colors are bloody fine. Jesus I am ****ed off with these monitors too, trying to find one without a fault is a nightmare however run spyder pro on these and you will find with a bit of calibration the colors on this panel are very good there is definitely people being over the top in regards to the overall quality of the monitor. Every time I get a refund I lose out on delivery costs. I am livid that I am having this many issues with a £750 monitor. However I'm not going to tell straight up lies about it either.

It has **** poor quality control but get a good one and the monitor is fantastic. Just unfortunately getting the good one seems to be the weak link right now...

Wish me luck with my 4TH ONE.

Just read a review on amazon with someone who bought 11 and every time they had a fault so yeah Im going to try another one but im getting mine off a different website with an additional backlight, fault, pixel check to ensure its been checked before it gets sent to me to ensure its ok and i receive as "good one" as i can get.

When they are set up right they are fantastic, Its just finding a good one at the minute lol.

Lol I love how you're defending these yet you're on your fourth one.

I'm not lying when I say they are bad monitors in terms of picture and colour quality, many people on many forums have complained that their whites looked yellow tinged and that the colour is bad even on monitors with no other faults.

Your justification is that they look fine after calibration with a device? Tell me why I should have to spend £80-120 for a calibration device when these should already look great out of the box for this price. Saying they look good after calibration is like saying a brand new car looks good after you've bought wheels for it.

And dude, please don't 'live with a faulty one' otherwise Asus while just keep dumping out this stuff knowing people will pay their hard earned cash on ****** faulty products.

It's no different to the Acer XB270HU... for all intents and purposes it's the same panel from AUO (even though the TFT central review suggested otherwise) as both it and the PG279Q are exhibiting identical faults and the same lottery when it comes to finding a good one. Fault clearly lies with AUO, the panel manufacturer, rather than Acer or Asus. QC appears to be non-existent in their factory, although Acer/Asus don't really seem to care which is just as bad really. To the person above who said "what an age for monitors"... indeed, the dark ages, ironically. :(

Agree with you all they are same, last few months had 2 saumsung ultrawides, 3 dells ultrawides, 2 asus 279q all with defects. Keeping dell because got discount

I'm defending the image quality and btw it took me 20 seconds to calibrate mien and it did not cost a penny. Uneducated few it seems. The whites one everyone I have had have not been yellow in any shape or form.

I am defending it despite being on my fourth one because while Quality control is poor and people are evidently fed up with it. It is getting bashed in areas it simply does not deserve now.

Wow that's pretty sad they would ship a panel with 30 dead pixels. That means no one is even looking at these panels before they get boxed up and shipped out. They probably just turn on the monitor to see if the back light comes on and off it goes..

This monitor seems great. £700 and it looks like the worst quality control ever.

Seems like it would be a good monitor otherwise if you know... they actually looked at them before putting them in a box.

Took a gamble and ordered one of these. I know there are a lot of people with issues, but there also seem to be a lot of people who are very pleased with them. I had a Dell S2716DG, which was pretty decent, but had some nasty BLB. It'll be interesting to compare the colours between the two as I'll have a day to test them side-by-side.

Let's hope I get a good one!

so what do you guys think of this backlight bleed? or is it a normal glow?

back_light_bleed.jpg

looks roughly like this apart from the bottom left side which i don't notice it at all

and heres a video

Also after more usage will the bleeding kinda cure itself a bit more? if that makes any sense.

Does it go away at the bottom right corner for example if you squeeze the back and front bezel together ?
