ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 144hz 2560x1440 IPS G-Sync.

Zerolimitz that panel looks fine to me sure there is a bit of a glow but that's to be expected to a certain extent with ips panels.

Can you notice it in game? if not its fine

I ordered one of these yesterday... and I hope the one I get is as good as the one you got ;)

Just ordered one. Bought a pixel and backlight bleed check aswell, This is from a different website and not OCUK.

Backlight bleed isn't an issue for me and I decided against the X34 due to them not getting any stock until next year, the 100hz is still noticeable to me vs the 165hz on the swift which is lovely. Anyway I love my old swift but recently took a chunk out the screen somehow :(.

I also really liked the IPS swift aswell.

I'll let you know how mine is, hopefully it will be a good one.

I'm on my third one now, but it has been about 5 weeks now and no major problems. No dead pixels, very minimal bleed but still a little glow on the bottom right corner but this monitor has probably the least amount of glow out of the 3 I've had.

Overall, do I think it's worth the money? Probably not.

Having said that though, I really do like the 144Hz GSYNC and IPS makes everything look SOOO much better than TN imho. So until other manufacturers come out with similar models and drive the price down, this is the kind of money you're going to have to drop on this kind of monitor.

I am however, massively excited for the advent of OLED monitors. Once someone comes out with 144Hz GSYNC OLED, I'll be the first in line.

So I have my 5th replacement. The good news, minor back light bleed mainly due to the bottom left not being in properly, it is only slightly out though... A gentle squeeze seems to fix the issue. Seem to be no stuck or dead pixels so far so almost a keeper. One issue I have is the pulsing is still present, at first I thought it was not as bad as the last one but it seems WORSE. When playing games like ac and panning the camera you can see about an inch worth of screen on the left looking very white. A lot whiter than the rest of the image. I have the monitor on 25 brightness and I am currently using http://www.technobuffalo.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/black-screen-1080.jpg and zooming in to make it fill the left side.

Could someone with this monitor go to that link and zoom in to make it as full screen as possible, then look at the left side and see if they notice a color change please? Preferably at the same brightness

I've got a replacement coming in a few days. The supplier agreed to test this one before sending it, let's hope they know what they are looking for!

For all its issues I do really want to keep one of these - going back to a TN (even a pretty decent one) and losing that colour reproduction whilst getting a load of colour / gamma shift isn't great.

@Rubberduckz, I'll certainly try that when the replacement comes. How is your screen for uniformity aside from that part? I used the dead pixel test here: http://jasonfarrell.com/misc/deadpixeltest.php to check for glow / BLB (black screen) and uniformity (white screen) whilst also looking for any dead pixels.

What have you guys been using to send yours back? Customer support said to check parcel 2 go but they don't cover monitors for anything.
Need to send back two perfect MG279Q's as they don't work in surround with one of these above 60hz unless you're forcing custom resolutions which it forgets during a restart :(

Since this monitor is covered by a dead pixel guarantee, if it has any dead pixels it is classed as faulty. OCUK will swap out with a new one at their expense.

which would be relevant if it was for dead pixels. other people have been sending them back for BLB issues etc. I need to send back two other asus monitors, and was wondering which courier to use

I just assumed that if the monitor is faulty, OCUK pick up the tab. Is BLB not classed as a fault?

In any case, if you're sending them back yourself, I'd probably recommend DPD or UPS via parcel2go. They're definitely not perfect, but the best of a bad bunch I'd say.

The fact couriers charge extra for insurance is a joke as well!

Edit - You say they won't even cover monitors?! Jesus christ

BLB is only considered a fault above a certain amount. and shipping will generally be undertaken by the customer, and then reimbursed by the retailer. The two monitors I need to send back are going back for a CCR refund, as no actual problem with the monitors, just not compatible as stated above.

Checked on parcel2go. can get UPS, or a few others to do it, for ~£10 per screen, and cover loss of a monitor for an additional £22.50 a go. No cover for damage.

How the hell does anyone normally send a monitor back lol.

Wish OCUK would just do a delivery and collection for me since I have ordered two more PG279Qs to replace them, but they can't for whatever reason.

What they're basically saying is "Pay us an additional £22.50 to protect yourself against our own incompetence, but if we break your item then we claim no responsibility whatsoever". It's a complete joke.

I guess most people would just send the monitor back and pray nothing happens to it during transit.

That what youve been doing?
I hope the new PGs I get are good, since the MG's im sending back are both 100% perfect. Damn shame that they have different pixel clocks to these ones, I had assumed it would be the same other than the gsync module, and i was somewhat willing to accept tearing on the side screens to save £300 a screen :(

Could in theory have gone with three of the MGs instead, but after testing things out, the FPS I get at 7880*1440 kinda requires gsync over vsync.

Hi backlight bleed on my one seems extremely minimal so far. At first it seemed like there was a lot in the bottom right but that seemed to have been glow, or disappeared. Also noticed on stuck pixel today when looking really really hard. Never noticed it until I hyper scanned the monitor.

Just managed to get my new pg279q up and running after turning my build fom flexible to hardline over the past few days.

Forgot how good it looks compared to the TN wow! Running perfectly, minimal BLB/glow (touch in top right but not causing me any issues), no dead/stuck pixels at all phew! and no damn dust like the old one.

Did have the fright of my life when i powered it up and it would only do 85hz, until i realised it was in HDMI mode (probably from testing prior to shipping) lol. in Display port mode overclocked to 165hz no problem.

All in all very pleased with this one :D.
