Another gold star for Jay @ Asus - phoned him this morning and he has told me he will arrange collection for tomorrow. New board should be with me Thursday.

Can't really ask for more than that, though I can't help wondering when they would have actually got round to contacting me of their own accord.

i just spoke to him too and they are sending me a letter (i used their website on friday) and he recognized my name. the letter will have all the UPS labels and information, etc.

hopefully get the letter tomorrow, hopefully they pick up the same day, or wednesday and i should get board back before weekend.

now he could not confirm whether or not i would need to re-install windows. probably safer to do so anyway, only takes a few minutes, and i'll just backup all the files i need.

I got letter with UPS label last friday, didnt call anywhere,Asus just sent it to me.
Will sent for replacement next week

I was impatient too - though I had been waiting for a while. I originally phoned Asus support and got through to their ?Dutch? call centre who took my details, then started phoning every monday to check status. Eventually got told I had to put details in on the website! (no-one had mentioned website before).

This was about 2 weeks ago, but I have a few weekends away planned and also a holiday in June and didn't want to miss the returns window so I thought i'd hurry them up a bit.

I set up a rma on the 30th of April and got a email back straight away saying i will be contacted with rma details.

Still got nothing back.

How long does this take.

Any news on the z68 boards. Like others this could be a cheap upgrade if we sell the new boards

Eventually got mine off today. Like others, I accidentally forgot to give back the SATA cables. ;). Hopefully will get mine Friday (more likely it will be Monday). The reason my label was delayed was because ASUS never paid enough postage.

what does z68 offer apart from built in GPU? which i dont need as i have a GPU. surely a built in GPU which uses the cpu is going to affect overclocking abilities?

Got my new board yesterday, came with the latest 1502 bios. Installed last night and not had a single issue compared to when i first put it together!

After all my giving out, in my rush to get it off to them, I neglected to put in the return details.... . I got onto them, and talked to (a quite sexy sounding) Eva, who had trouble with my strange accent, and bought up the name Jay Palmer, who I think seems to be held in some high regard here. I emailed the details to the sandy bridge team email that first sent me confirmation email, (Eva assured me they would respond). Here's hoping. Anyway. I'll let you know, in case there are other wallys out there, who are too embarrassed to own up to such stupid an error.

My new board came yesterday, started to install but realised I didn't have the WC fittings I needed as I put a new res in. They should arrive in a couple of days hopefully.

It looks as if the initial rush has passed its peak now, and having got the Bank Holidays out of the way, Asus are now able to give customers the return service they always hoped to offer! :)

Good news anyway!

Sorry for being lazy, but haven't read this thread in a while. Guessing there is no change in plans for Asus and no way to exchange for Z68 and pay the difference? Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new Z68, send P67 off for replacement and sell the exchanged one. Only thing is, with Z68 now available I have a feeling it may be hard to sell the old P67 board :(

you can use both gpu's your main on idles or switches off while in windows. which saves power. dont take this as gospel only read something briefly. think someone with a bit more know will clear it up.

anyone esle been waiting for a label to send it back. been waiting 12 days now

dont understand how that would work, where does the signal come from? motherboard or gpu to monitor?

if its coming out the graphics card, then that will always need to be on, and its usually idling anyway in windows so your not saving any power.

seems pointless getting a z68 to me unless you dont game at all.

still not received my letter from asus, supposed to be sent out monday. emailed them, wont get reply until friday i bet.

read a little bit more.

You can use the on board gpu for video encoding unlike the p67

My mobo was picked up on Monday so I was kina expecting the replacement to come Thursday or Friday.
So guess what came today?
Thats right, another letter from Asus with the postage sticker!

I hope that doesn't mean the've sent me that instead of a new board.
