Audi owners in here!

Price sounds about right in today's market. TTs have always seemed to hold value a bit better than a A3 (for example with the same 3.2 engine).

Personally I much prefer the looks of the facelift mk2, but then you're looking at closer to double your budget.

My MK2 TT has been a fantastic car, never intended to keep it long term, but i can see it staying around for many years to come.

Thanks guys, I had also been looking at S3s but haven't seen one that I liked. Just called the guy to get some details, and did an MOT check. This is what it failed on last year.

Fail.
  • Supplementary Restraint System warning lamp indicates a fault (5.4.2)
  • Nearside Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc (2.5.C.1a)
  • Nearside Rear Anti-roll bar linkage has excessive play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2)
  • Front Brakes imbalanced across an axle (3.7.B.5b)

Advisory
  • Nearside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)

So imo not worth looking at. I have seen some with spotless MOT records, but they've been too far away. I hate searching for a car!

Recently took delivery of an A5 S-Line Cabriolet 2.0 TSi (190PS), white with a red roof (admittedly a bit marmite) but as it's a lease I'm not too concerned. After 3 years in a Golf R the more sedate pace (especially with the roof down as it's quite relaxing). Weather has been great and haven't had the roof up for the last couple of weeks whilst driving except for the one night it dropped a little cool and the kids complained in the back. Very smooth drive so far so good.

Looks a very nice spec however you may find the sport suspension a little firm as per 3 series m sport. Not sure what it is like though as the courtesy A4 avant I drove was a lower spec model. Interior is very very nice though and a massive step up from an F30 (to be expected)

The matrix lights are also truly amazing (at least I find them amazing!)

Don't understand why you'd need it. If you are sat for that long just put it in P (you only nudge the gear selector) to get into P and put the handbrake on (pull up a button). Then just stick it in drive and foot on the accelerator and you are away. No bother at all.

EDIT: intact you press the P button the gear stick - I forgot.

This is more effort than simply braking to a stop and letting go of the brake pedal. It's an excellent feature that I would want in every car that I own in the future.

I have owned a few Audi in the past due to the VAG scheme I'm on - A1 TFSI black edition, B9 A4 252ps Saloon and currently a '18 Q5 252ps. The scheme is getting massively worse so we decided the Q5 that goes back in Dec will be our last scheme car. At the same time we are going down a 1 car house hold. This has meant I have been on the hunt for a ticks all boxes car to keep for quite a while (5+ years).

Ended up with a A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI 252ps, it's an ex-press car so pretty well specced. Paid 31990 and pick up Thursday. Very happy.

Obligatory snaps from dealership car park :p when I get hold of it I'll take some better photos with my camera.
