AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA

Yes I have noticed this, also another bug which I can replicate is that when applying a cosmetic skin to say your bow, the cosmetic is invisible (you only see the base skin of the bow etc) when you next load the game, even though it is applied in the inventory, have to re-apply it then it shows up in the game when using it. Also I had an instance where the heavy bow arrows were invisible, I was firing invisible arrows

Seems like another hogwarts where some settings are broke and some look better using lesser preset
:D

Checked this out properly and yep.

The settings noted in the video with my personal changes:
7uIgZJV.jpg

Before (mix of Ultra preset, then manually setting a few to max, full streaming distance, full object detail):

Optimised settings:

So an 11 FPS gain, not too ruddy.

Can turn off depth of field to improve sharpness slightly too.

Ok so Specular Reflections is a massive performance hit, even on a 4090. Check this out:

Very High:

Ignore the shadows moving, clouds in the sky cast shadows all over the place in every screenshot.

This also translates (though to a lesser degree) when no water is around just vegetation as wet big leaves etc reflect light.

Didn't take long:

An NVIDIA DLSS 3 Frame Generation mod is now available for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, bringing around 40% performance boost without some of the issues brought by AMD FSR 3 frame generation.

The mod was developed by well-known developer PureDark, who showcased the mod in a new video shared today. Used in conjunction with FSR 3 at the Quality preset, the mod brings around a 40% performance boost. With DLSS, the performance boost is a little below that offered by FSR 3 frame generation, but frame pacing seems to be more solid, reducing the interface stuttering issues seen with AMD frame generation tech enabled.

Its on puredark's patreon, so probs best to wait for a free version on nexus shortly.

That's a crazy difference for one setting like that.

PC Gamer reviewer didn't like it, blames the game for his unstable PC :p

For me, the gorgeous presentation has been substantially undercut by technical issues that accompany big multi-platform releases—frequent hitching, FPS drops (AMD Adrenaline says I'm getting 90, but it looks and feels a lot more like 45), and blurry FSR3 scaling, which Ubisoft originally attributed to a lack of a day one driver update. That driver update has come, though, and the issues haven't subsided.

Should have got an RTX card

 I noticed this, hence crouching when talking to the meatbags from Earth.
On a kind of related note, it's odd there are no shorter or kid Na'vi in the regular world. I was reminded of the intro where you start as a bunch of kids in a story bit later on so they already modelled out some different size characters.

I finally got me an ikran, :D the climb up to the ikran rookery is truly amazing as is flying around shooting exploding arrows at the helicopters. I suppose you could then continue the story by just flying from one location to another. Then I realised how much I enjoy rushing through the jungle, picking fruit etc, fighting off predator packs and occasionally coming across random small groups of mercs.

I like it but it's not grabbing me for large chunks of time., After an hour or two it starts to get a bit samey. The Navi haven't really engaged me in any story so far. I've reached the plains.

Yeah. The thread is relatively dead

I mean it might be a good game but the film was bloody stupid and I wish I never watched it. Adult smurfs In what was clearly a film for kids, or people who wanted test their 3D TVs that was definitely going to be successful this time lol.

Brb playing super mario.

First one was alright imo. The sequel though...

I kind of give up on cinema after that. Rather wait for a great movie once every few years now and pay the premium and watch it at imax. That's my plan going forward I think.
