AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA

Cheers all - messing around with settings made some improvement - but the game is crap so uninstalled lol - crap parkour, crap map, confusing objectives, inconsistent performance and the most annoying gathering system. Glad I got it via Ubi+...

Technically Massive Entertainment did all the work, okay they are part of Ubi, but the team doing the work know their stuff.

I liked the rocket launcher, pretty lethal in visual appeal, and practice. Shame it has such limited ammo.

I question how stunning can it really be if it running fine on a 3080? How are you not running out of vram?

Key is to not use FSR :p

Obviously I ain't using maxed settings given a 4090 ***** the bed here if you do that too, using the recommended settings of that video I posted a bit further back i.e. where most settings are broke or/and don't provide any visual benefit at all along with dlss balanced @ 3440x1440, game is mostly locked to 80+ fps and in the second and 3rd biome area (more demanding than the first), it drops to 60s but on average is usally 70 fps. Second biome area hits the CPU extremely hard too probably due to the wind and simulating the tall grass fields blowing in the wind. DLDSR 1.78 and DLSS performance looks the best but then my perf has areas where it drops to 50s in the second biome so not for me.

Extra streaming distance I couldn't see any difference between 5 and 10 nor any performance difference tbh. Object detail seems to affect the draw distance more than streaming distance and is also the heaviest in terms of performance hit and I think the main one for vram so I have this set to 18 out of 25.

Tried FSR again in the new biome area and it is even worse, it's almost like amd and ubi only tuned fsr for the starting area  Frame gen is still also broke, it just doesn't work, sure it looks somewhat more fluid because more frames but that micro stutter and UI issues makes it a no go.

Reactions: TNA

At 1080p, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 averages a whopping 166 FPS with all graphics settings maxed out. Even its 1% lows are higher than every other GPU we tested. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX averaged 114 FPS with 86.6 FPS lows. The RX 7900 XT managed an average of 102 FPS and 80 FPS lows. From the last-gen stack, the RTX 3080 Ti managed 92 FPS, while the RX 6800 XT came in last with a 76 FPS average

This game does look amazing, even if there are some huge visual flaws (most noticeable is LoD pop-in when flying, then motion trails behind small flying objects when standing with DLSS enabled, sometimes not a great water reflections).

I am somewhat enjoying it.

But I gotta say. Ubisoft's design of "let's make a huge map and put 50 copies of twenty different things on it", that is, insane copy paste of design, coupled with their inane, bland, inoffensive, endlessly boring writing and characters, really grinds my gears. World like this (see screens blow) really deserves much better game set in it. Why can't Ubi get better writers and designers, dammit. Get some inspiration from Rockstars and CD Projekts of the world.

Also, stealth is busted in this. Way too unpredictable, no stealth takedowns, too many enemies. I mostly just run and gun with a shotgun lobbing grenades at people.
