Baldur's Gate 3

I believe that when your friend/s drop in, you simply pick which of your party they will control for that "session", I suspect he is probably right though, most people will play with a set group of friends at set times, much like a real table top D&D group does.

That's exactly how it works in the beta. One person has the saves and hosts the game. The rest join in and select which character they want.

Anyone decided what race and class your going to pick.

I'm going for dwarf barbarian, played that class briefly in early access and do seem to go towards close combat classes in RPGs

Paladin as dragonborn or gith I think. I'll be playing in a group though so that has influenced the pick a little. I do like paladins but the temptation to play bard or druid is very high for the sheer utility and skills.

I want to play this so badly, I wish release was sooner. I've found myself dipping in and out of early access and have somehow put 9 hours into it since buying it the other week.

Paladin also, never really played one as primary character before, usually always more on the ranged magic side of things. That said, will try multiclassing, something I never really do either, seems sorc or Warlock should pair well. Though understand its typical!!!!!

But yes cannot wait, playing Solsta's new DLC to tide me over

Have to admit solasta is tempting me as a stop gap, so is wartales, I've spent a couple of hours deciding what to play ><

This looks intimidating, is it very hard to get into as a noob to the series/genre?
There are a lot of difficulty settings that can be tweaked and some set levels; story mode, hardcore etc. These I believe can be changed at any time during your play through so it's easy to start easy and raise the challenge if you wish.

There are things to learn and keep track of but I feel the game is quite intuitive but your mileage may vary. There's also going to be a ton of guides and tips, tricks etc posted both here and on youtube and other sites.

And you don't need to know anything about the setting or previous games. It's all about the choices you make as you go and there isn't correct/wrong choices.

Quite the repetoire that Cohhcarnage is getting now for voice acting work, I think thats the 9th or 10th game that he has done an npc for

Yeh add someone that I don't give two *** about. Hopefully you can just not add him at all in game :)

Just an npc that you may encounter thats all, not a key to the story npc or someone you can recruit, its actually a character tied to a character from Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, so a nice easter egg character for those who know the lore

Tiefling Bard first playthrough, then the Dark Urge origin for my Murder Hobo playthrough :D

I was going to go the Dark Urge for the first playthrough, but that lead guy said its probably better for a 2nd play
